Interesting names still out there: Marcus Mariota, Tyrod Taylor, Andy Dalton and I love Josh Dobbs but he is more competition than an upgrade. Stick with Jake Browning. The guy can play. He's a hometown guy here in Sacramento, but he's played great at every level that he was given a chance at. The guy would always find ways to win games even when playing So-Cals best high school teams in state championship games. Think he won 2 and lost 1 against So-Cal powerhouses. I honestly think Browning can be a great backup. Very very smart guy as well.

My order: CJ made 8 million so we would either want an upgrade or to pay less. 1. Gronkowski-You have to believe he is heading back to Tampa but he would be a good 1 year upgrade at the position. He’s only 33 and made a huge impact last year 2. Everett-More long term production and familiarity with Taylor in LAR. Between 33-48 catches and 320-478 yards each of the last 4 years. Very good athlete and powerful after the catch. Angry runner. a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LDsK5nHLpc 3. Hurst-Phased out in Atl but still has some upside. Flashes whenever asked to play a bigger role but beat out in Baltimore by Andrews and then Atl by Pitts. Great athlete, good after the catch a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCXr1xCFxng b. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFenpzSCh2U 4. Conklin-Just 27 so could be long term here and no need to use a pick. Very solid pass catcher last year, coaches will have familiarity because he played for Frazier at CMU. Just 32 catches before he broke out for 61 last year and 3 scores. Former basketball player with great hands and athleticism. I could see us signing him for 3 years at about 6 per year. a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_Pk7mMm8Iw b. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5rsTISbCrE 5. Tonyan-One big year in 2020 with 11 tds and 52 catches, probably back to GB for cheap. a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc_KvJZMnp4 6. Howard-High upside but hasn’t put it all together. He is like a low percentage 3 point shot. We don’t want them to take it but when it goes in we are all very excited. Highest catch totals in career are only 34 in both 2nd and 3rd year. Still just 27 but hasn’t put it all together. I would find it hard to trust him as the starter. a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9g75Ln3NDk 7. Jarwin-Dalton Schultz took his spot after an injury. No production last 2 years. Very good 2 years ago but injuries derailed him. Will be injured still at the beginning of the year. Might be an option later in offseason. a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WCvpr1FNi8 8. Williams-Solid blocker, was a decent pass catcher last year before his injury. Would be solid but nothing special. Downgrade from CJ a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rflTv4mxPkY 9. Rudolph-Cincy native on the downside of his career. Not a bad last year with 26-257-1. At the end of career and wouldn’t be worth the flyer IMO a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7dRWC1h7n0&t=58s 10. Herndon-Unicornesque upside with ok production in NYJ before nothing last year. Hurst is older but on his first contract. Maybe Tonyan.
membengal
I'm gonna be pretty disappointed if we don't add a third lineman in FA. The contracts for Cappa and Karras were so good, there is room to do more work. They need to do more work.

But if they are going with Hopkins at C and the two newbies flanking, or Karras at C and who knows at LG, then a proven RT is very necessary IMO. Not certain about the alleged intangibles...didn't see anything concerning as to last season. Coach Frank would know more about those I would figure. It was said that Coach Pollack loves the kid and Collins admires him.. This deal should be close imo.. Cleveland"s release of TE Austin Hooper is another target..He'll have many suitors. Bozeman is in play as well.. Bengals aren't done by any means..

Could see them dealing for a different OT too. What isn't in question is the still need to add an OT.

Waiting for his release is a bit risky, as another team could easily offer a very late round pick in trade…and I’m sure Dallas would rather get SOMETHING for him rather than NOTHING. And if he is cut, then we may find ourselves in a bidding war. But…you also have to wonder if the Bengals are giving any thoughts toward compensation picks in 2023 draft and would prefer to lose more free agents than they gain. sparky151
Planning on the basis of 2023 comp picks is a loser mentality. Do what you need to do to field the best team you can in 2022 and let the comp picks take care of themselves. For what it's worth, Tretter and Collins wouldn't count against us. So far we've lost Uzomah, Phillips, and Ogunjobi while signing Karras and Cappa.

Definitely not a “loser mentality”. The Rams get three compensatory picks next month for the moves they made last year…those losers.

Dallas would save a total of $10M against the cap by releasing him after 6/1 vs just a million or two before. They could well want to save cap space vs. a mid/late pick or two.
