THE LAST O-LINE THREAD....i hope...

Recommended Posts

PFF didn’t report it. They had a column guessing at landing spots for free agents and what a contract might look like. The entire article was simply an exercise, nothing about it was sourced. It was out before PacMan’s weirdness, leading to some likely correct guessing that Pac saw it and passed it off as if he has inside info…

Wait, Pollack hasn't finished his post season evaluations of current players? Why not? Seems pretty late in the game to just now be doing that. The coaches should be grading each player based on their performance every week. The week after the last game they should have a full season writeup on every player.

They know exactly where each player stands.  Knew it before the Super Bowl. The problem is we need to upgrade at multiple positions and the club has to decide where those upgrades might come from.

If we use the draft to potentially fill a spot, they probably have to keep the current player or you might have a Cedric Ogbuehi situation where we unload a quality starter and turn the line to shit with no depth.

You spend more in FA for a known quality player and you can probably cut the current guy to save money.

Exactly how long does it take them to do the scouting they need to do?

No idea how much time Bengals coaches spend on their scouting function but scouts spend lots of time, more than 40 hours a week, writing up reports on pro or college players.

That makes sense but isn't what Pollack said. He claimed they were still doing evaluations of 2021 players. Which would be strange.

Pollack doesnt want to be concerned with center position to start..

Can definately see Bateman or Jenson signing to solidify it..

Pollack thinks Carman can turn the corner into another solid piece but he's not sure about when....

A mess in progress..
