Some would debate that Obama and the Clintons are not liberal enough for today’s Democratic Party. But some of the ideas that are being thrown out there, especially about some of the green initiatives, are unrealistic. Do you think California is going to have the electrical infrastructure in place by 2035 to ban gasoline car sales? Do you think the rest of the country would be ready for a similar initiative? My sister recently experimented with driving her EV from Virginia to Cincinnati and what is normally a 7 hour trip turned into an overnight trip because West Virginia doesn’t have any fast charging stations. And what’s going to power these electric stations? I’m all for clean air and I believe that the threat of global warming is real, but I just don’t think that getting away from gas and oil won’t happen for a long time.

I’m not fond of what the Democrats are doing right now, but at the same time, I can’t vote or take seriously any Republican who is maintaining that Trump won the election, or any Trump supporter, really. Here in Ohio for the Senate race, we have JD Vance, who was an anti-Trumper until he got his endorsement, and is cringey for a million other reasons, and Tim Ryan, who at least tries to work with the Republicans (and gets criticized by the radical left for doing so.) TBH, if Matt Dolan had won the Republican primary, I would probably vote for him in November over Ryan.

I think a lot of the reasonable congresspeople on both sides, who want to work together for the common good, are drowned out by the louder and more radical voices on both sides and feel like they have to fall in line or lose their seat.

It’s sad 😔.

Sorry quoted these out of order.

Is it the green imitative stuff that you have issue with the democrats on? And what exactly is the radical left to you?

Specifically what is it you don't think is realistic, because I'm inclined to agree to a point but want to know exactly what it is you are thinking here?

The border "crisis" isnt at the border. It's in the countries that the US destabilized because they wanted to fight "socialism". Had we left well enough alone, it could be argued that there might have at least been the possibility that their people would not  be so poor that they have to leave or so dangerous. I have no problem with asylum seekers.  I would also argue the current naturalization process takes way too long and is the cause of some of this stuff.

I have a huge problem, with Texas' draconian laws on women's bodily autonomy

The crisis isn't at the border, it's in the Southern American countries that have become so violent these people have been forced to flee.

Deal with the root of that and we can talk about if it's still a crisis.

As to what to do with them, do what we do with all asylum seekers, let them in.

I'm going to try and respond to this respectfully but there's a lot to unpack here

What does "Conservative" mean to you? Honest question.  The current Republicans aren't fiscally conservative (look at the massive debt increase under Trump.).  Morally conservative? How does that fit with paying to bang pornstars behind the pregnant wife's back or ripping off a pediatric cancer charity - among so many other things..  What are you trying to conserve exactly?

If you think everyone that dislikes Trump is a liberal it's no wonder you guys seem to think liberals are everywhere, hiding under your bed.   As for me, I'll "get over" Trump when he's no longer relevant to my life or potential future.  He can go back to doing reality TV or whatever nonsense. Reasonable?

Hate to tell ya buddy but that ship sailed long ago.  Ever heard of Social Security? It's right there in the name.  You plan on sending yours back? Of course that's only one of many examples. Do you think we should only spend our tax money on the military or what?  Again I think we're not defining our terms very well.

That's..  simply not true.  Most developed nations are closer to socialism than we are.. and most developed nations have fewer people incarcerated, better education, lower infant mortality, fewer citizens living in poverty..   What is it you're afraid of?

You mean like letting people get married despite sexual orientation, or letting a woman make her own reproductive choices?  Yeah, I agree.

The "fanatics" in the Democratic party want things like affordable health care.  The fanatics in the Republican party rant about things like Jewish Space Lasers,  mass shootings being a hoax, COVID not being real or JFK, Jr. literally rising from the dead.  Once again, I think we have very different definitions of the word "fanatic".   At any rate statements like that make it hard for me to take you seriously.

Show me all these socialist countries that are thriving.

As a self-proclaimed conservative, do you have a problem with Desantis spending reportedly $12 million in Florida taxpayer's money to fly a couple hundred people to Martha's Vineyard, a "city" of 15,000 that does not have a sanctuary policy?

Who is "They" and on what are you basing that supposed reaction?  No idea what you're talking about (which frankly I'm guessing makes 2 of us).

Show me a first world country that has not, to some degree, embraced socialism.

Again I have to ask if you plan to send back your social security checks?

I ask what countries that what socialistic governments are thriving?

Plain and simple.

I like the idea of sprrading the immigrants to different democratic cities.

They talk about open borders but when they're headed to their cities cry big tears.

Look up tour own stats on texas immigrants if you like.

If you dont see it down there I dont know what your thinking.

Alot of you fanatics want to turn US into lala land.

Hows that working out there?

Again, Martha's Vineyard has a population of around 15,000.  I have to wonder where you live to consider that a city.

Also, again, you fail to clarify who "they" are in your statement.

I'm thinking you have no credible source for your claims of "hundreds of thousands" and pulled it out of your ass.

"You fanatics"?  Really?

You sound completely emotional and unhinged now.  Perhaps a timeout in your safe space until you can discuss this without getting triggered?  Project a little harder why don't you.

Truth is these Republican governors desperately need immigration or they'd have no one else to blame for their failing states

No..

Truth is Governor Abbott is going to share the wealth of migrants to democratic places that say there is no crisis.

Hypocrits they are.
