Jurgens or Dulcich may be there at 63..

Ridgeway is a wrecking ball but to tall at 6'6 imo

Pierce is going to make some team happy..

Cam Taylor-Britt would be solid.

I hate to say it but it's a great year to trade up and grab a good early second round player. Plenty of good guards and CBs out there still and I still want a RB to pair with Mixon. If he goes down you are stuck with two 3rd down backs. A top tier run game will open up the passing game even more. This makes for some seriously dangerous scoring opportunities

A few interesting ways to think about the rest of the picks.

Where could picks actually find roster spots? I took a shot at a 55 man roster (53 was too hard). Green are open spots. Green with name are peeps that could be upgraded.

WR Chase 26 Thomas 23 Irwin 23
WR Higgins 24 Morgan 24

Some conclusions

Spots where people could win roster spots

4th RB

Rotational WR

Developmental TE

Competition at LG who can backup C.....or start at C should Karras switch

Starter/Rotational 3T

Additional Edge

CB who can compete to start

The Future

Might need a 3rd WR

Might need a starting LT (This hurts me to write, just tag him and extend him!)

Clarity at LB-It's messy but not sure it needs an investment

Safety starter

Corner starter

Final conclusions

Drafting an early corner fills 2 needs easily

Carman is such a question mark you can't really go into the season with someone who can't play C. Maybe that's Trey Hopkins backing up C and G. At this pointe Spain is the better player but maybe less of a fit.

Investing in an early Edge or TE doesn't make sense unless its the overwhelming BPA.

With an eye on BPA I would target CB-3T-C or G that could play C in Rds 2 and 3.

We don't need to take an O-lineman at all this draft if we re-sign Spain. That should be easy enough to do and he'll be reasonably priced. So there's our Carman insurance. We could probably find a better backup center than Trey Hill but it's not as high a priority as a CB or two, backup DT, TE3, and WR4.

Last pick in round 7, does BPA stand for Best Punter Avaialble?

I think I'd go as high as 6 or even 5 if the Bengals think he's as good as some say.  Field position can win you some games.
