World class teams won’t play on field turf because you can’t slide tackle on the stuff and passing the ball is much different than on grass. It changes the game significantly.

Klopp almost cancelled a US Summer tour because he could not get enough concessions that LFC would not have to play any matches on pro turf. He finally agreed to a handful of locations—including Notre Dame. Since these were friendlies, he was very careful with the amounts of minutes the frontlines played.
