Their red zone plays have not been improved from last years debacle.

Small things are huge.  Take a delay penalty in ot, then punt it back.  A tie at the end of the season may make all the difference. E-fuckin-gregious

IDK that slant to Chase was obvious as hell & still money.  He had two winning TD's get erased today on some BS.

Some real puzzling situational play calls though, that's for sure.  Seemed very indecisive overall & never settled on what seemed to be working for them.  Mixon & Hurst were open all day but it's like 6-8 yards a pop wasn't good enough for them & they kept throwing downfield into a cloud of DBs.

Austin called a brilliant defensive game for them. As you say, they had everything past 15 yards blanketed. And with The Wall of Mush 2022 Edition offensive line, no time to allow any breakdowns to develop.

Plus Turbinski played the game of his career... WAY over his head and he will never duplicate that again, ever.

I still don't know how he held on to the ball after getting his arm chopped from behind by Hendrickson.

Someone should send Jesse Bates III a highlight reel of Fitzpatrick's game, which was maniac good, with a note

that says "this is why you ain't worth it".

First and goal on the one and they call a pitchout which immediately lost 4 yards.  Dumb. If 45 year old Tom Brady can sneak it in still, Joey B can too.

Clean up the mistakes and we win that one easily.

That was the dumbest call all day.

They blew 4 chances to move less than foot for the score.

I would have ran 2 sneaks and on 3rd down fake the run and threw it to Hurst.

And Pittsburgh had shown all day their linebackers were way too fast to attempt slow developing plays like that.  Almost every play run to the outside was met by 5 bad guys.

... They could even bring in Brandon Allen to QB sneak 4 times in a row if they were worried about injury. (what I would have done)

This team is way too concerned with possible injuries as it is, that's why they came out looking like they hadn't touched a football in 6 months.  Once again it's a football team, not a glass menagerie to admire in a cabinet.

I have never understood why teams don't use a 340 lb NT for QB sneaks needing 1 yard, and put him directly under center. Then have another 340 lb DT at RB and push the "DT QB" from behind.

It would be very hard to stop even if the defense knew if was coming.

There is no way Reader being pushed by Shelvin, behind Karras doesn't get 36 inches.

I believe that their thinking was to not score on first down, and maybe not even on second down, in order to run time off of the clock.  🙁

Defense was playing well.  If that were the case then Joe should have taken a knee instead of risking a fumble on the pitch or negative yards which did happen.

Had similar thoughts.

Da Bears had The Refrigerator, we should have the Cincinnati produced Crosly Shelvinator.

well....plays have progressions and you take the first open one. this isnt madden, you cant just mash the X button to throw a screen when youre going through your progressions on the other side.

the offenses ended up with 338 passing yards and almost 140 rushing yards. all while giving the ball away 5 times and almost a 6th.

assuming they dont wet themselves again, i assume theyll tighten it up and perform pretty well.

I would think somewhere between the 3rd and 4th interception they could maybe stop forcing the ball into coverage downfield and make an adjustment, or just take the easy yards underneath.

At least, that's what I'd do in Madden.  ;)

Remember when they used to let Peko lead block? That was fun to watch.

This what CFL teams do. On short yardage the backup comes in and does the sneaks. Keep in mind in the CFL the DL has to play 1 yard off the line but there are some QB specialists that just do that. On our team, the QB who does the sneaks is the 3rd string guy. He was an option QB in college so he can actually bust some plays if he goes outside.

Tonight the Bronces have farked up 3 goal line plays. Wilson getting used to that lol

I've watched a few NFL games now and havent seen a good oline unit yet..

The Dlines have become ferocious

along with blitzing.

Sunday. was perfect example in a very good defense gves a team a chance even when the offense plays poorly..

The Bengals have one of the best..

On Siruis NFL yesterday, Pat Kirwan was saying the same thing - he said teams need to play these guys in pre-season, you are trying to avoid an injury in pre-seson but you then risk the QB injury at the start of the regular season.
