Even last year they would lose to the Jets and Bears, but then rise up and beat the Chiefs twice. They seem to match the competition level - either up or down. They just expect their superior talent to be enough. Then after it isn't for the first half, they start to take the game seriously and come back. He was another guy that was missing during OTAs and just kind of doing his own thing in the off-season. Hopefully it isn't going to take several weeks to get all the Bengals players ready for the season. I'll take 2-2 ... But don't think they can dig out of 0-4. Riley played decently for a string of games. Spain came out of the blocks like a pro bowler but faded. At this early point they are worse.. Horrid really.. He took over for Bill Callahan in Dallas and the offensive line got progressively worse until he was fired. Then he comes to the Bengals under Bill Lazor. They draft Billy Price. Bengals have success running the ball, but still are horrible in pass protection. Marvin is fired. Pollack goes to the Jets under Gase. He drafts Mekhi Becton. Gase’s Jets tenure is a dumpster fire and the entire staff gets canned after two seasons. Pollack comes back to the Bengals. Gets promoted to “Run Game Coordinator”. He drafts Jackson Carman. Bengals offense line becomes national laughing stock on their way to the Super Bowl. Over the 1+ years as run game coordinator, he presides over a unit that has been bottom five in the NFL in run success rate. what am I missing other than parroting narratives from lazy journalists?
