Hope the Bengals don't get screwed by this bs

Cincinnati’s Week 15 home game against the Vikings that was already listed as a TBD could very well get flexed into a Thursday slot. But that week already has some premier divisional games and Cincinnati’s is merely a cross-conference affair.

At least for this year, the rule change shouldn’t have a big impact on the Bengals.

Volson is 6'6" which is pretty tall for a guard. He played tackle in college so in case of emergency he could pitch in there. But our roster has more tackles than guards so that's unlikely.

Alex Cappa is also 6'6..

Problem with both as tackles is their

lack of quickness on the outside .

I like them both at guard though.

Has he ever played RT?

Not that it matters of course :ninja:

Whatever the hell that is

“Grow fan bases world wide”.

International football (soccer) has done this for years. The English Premier League has been highly aggressive in this endeavor—particularly in the US and Asia.

For example, my PL allegiance—Liverpool—has “Official Club Locations” in most major U.S. markets. These are primarily pubs, but also at the supporter organizational levels. Having an “official location” designation, allows a two-way stream of exposure for both fans and club. Fans get deals like ticket options for matches in the UK (and some special VIP throw-ins). The club gets basically free marketing in the locations.

Another aspect of “growing fan bases” is the connection to US television rights. NBC, Peacock, and USA Network all televise PL matches every week.

That the NFL is looking into doing what the PL has been doing for a long time, will present them with more revenue growth than simply playing some games in international cities every so often. The grass roots approach will definitely garner more responses.

I doubt the Vikings game will have much appeal to be flexed.  Week 13 is already on MNF, Week 14 is the Colts, Week 16 is Stealers on national TV, and Week 17 is the Chiefs.  I don’t see it happening.

PFF Offseason Grade ...

CINCINNATI BENGALS

Offseason Grade: A

Cincinnati securing the services of Orlando Brown Jr. at tackle was both unexpected and excellent opportunistic work. Brown has five straight seasons with a PFF pass-blocking grade of at least 74.4 and helps further solidify the Bengals' offensive line. Cody Ford adds depth to the group, as well, while the gamble that Irv Smith Jr. can remain healthy is an excellent buy-low gamble.

Their draft was an excellent one also, with Myles Murphy bringing elite tools and flashes of play at an area of the draft where that skill set is typically gone. Cornerback D.J. Turner, safety Jordan Battle, receiver Charlie Jones and running back Chase Brown all future-proof areas of the roster without needing to be pressed into full-time roles right away.

Keep him upright and so much more ti follow with this team..

That and a top 10 defense are all that matters. Really think they need to look at him like NE did Brady and not worry quite so much about the other skill positions.

Might need more of a discount than this projection ... I think more like 5 for 100 ... (20 per)

That article is strange. It has both Higgins and Pittman signing 4 year extensions with Tee getting a higher annual average. But Pittman getting 53 mil guaranteed at signing compared to 32 for Tee. I think the 24 mil is probably a good estimate of his open market value, it's comparable to DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin or AJ Brown. But Tee won't be on the open market until at least 2025, maybe 2026. So he'd have to take a discount to get paid early. About 20 mil per year, as you suggest, seems like a fair price to shift the injury risk to the team. Also, with Orlando Brown and Joe Burrow taking less than max deals, Tee has good examples to follow.
