One of them was Norton Mezvinsky, under whom I studied at Central Connecticut. He co-wrote a classic, Jewish Fundamentalism in Israel, with Israel Shahak. Both were not well-liked (and often slandered) by Jewish fundies, but the book is well-worth a read if you are interested in the historical background of this.
