If he tries to keep playing and simply isn't cleared by the team doctors, then his injury guarantees would apply. But team doctors famously work for the team, not the patient. He's entitled to take medical advice from his own doctor per the CBA. If that doctor and the team disagree, then it would be part of a grievance process when the team doesn't make the next scheduled payment. Report

You are correct: both sides will have “experts” to say he is toast/good to go. In my experience, the independent arbitrator will be a fight also. They will be decidedly leaning one way or the other due to experience. Report
