November 11, 20241 yr comment_1773246 Nice to see them trying to address some possible problem areas but I don't see any linemen yet. Sucks that the positions that are hardest to fill via free agents are the same ones they've been ass at drafting. Report
November 11, 20241 yr comment_1773255 Howard used to make a million dollars a week. Maybe he thinks he's still worth half that much per game and the team disagrees. Or maybe they will make him another offer after the bye. That's the sort of thing cheap teams do. Report
November 12, 20241 yr comment_1773259 That's our Bengals... blow off trades at the deadline and dumpster dive cast off free agents. Who turn them down. Report
November 12, 20241 yr comment_1773263 It’s not like signing guys mid season who are not in the league is going to make a major impact on the team. Lipstick on a pig. Report

They know this. Drafting Burrow and Chase has been the only great thing this org has done. How hard was that? Wouldn't it be the shits if they tagged Chase next year like with Higgins? They'll ride JBs talent status quo until his contract is up or he wants a trade Report

If they did try to tag him for 2026 he'd probably hold out for real and I doubt anyone would blame him. Report

The Bengals were curb-stomping the Chargers (again) either way. I can still taste how sweet that win was. One of my favorite sports memories ever was the regular season game in San Diego during that 1981 season. Bengals led 17-7 and SD was driving late in the first half for a TD that would have narrowed the lead to 17-14. My expectation was that they'd score and eventually beat the Bengals, because they were the Chargers, the game was in San Diego, and the Bengals Cinderella run had to end sometime soon, or so I assumed. Instead, Louis Breeden intercepted Fouts in the end zone and returned it something like 104 yards for a TD that made it 24-7 at the half. The SD crowed was stunned and so was I. The Bengals were THE better team that year, the second-best team in the NFL. Long-forgotten fact: The Bengals won more games than any NFL team over the 1981 and 1982 seasons and had the best record in the NFL over those two years. Report
November 13, 20241 yr comment_1773385 1982 was a disaster year… from that stupid strike to Freeman McNeil. They could have won 1,000 games and it would never feel great. Report

November 14, 20241 yr comment_1773497 In a surprise move, the Seattle Seahawks have made a former Buffalo Billslinebacker available for hire in the middle of the 2024 NFL season. The Seahawks (4-5) have released Tyrel Dodson. The 26-year-old only signed in Seattle this past offseason after his 2023 season in Buffalo ended and he became a free agent. Most interestingly, Dodson made 71 tackles for the Seahawks defense, a team-high, and he also totaled two sacks, two pass breakups, and five tackles for loss ... and while he was released, he started all nine games for the team this year. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: We're OK at linebacker but is this guy better than Bachie or Njongeta (who I like). Whattaya think, Vern? Report
