Could be that. Just like old times... Bengal visit, signs elsewhere.

But you also wonder if it's a money grab and he's got an inflated sense of his value at this point in his career.

Who knows.

that makes more sense if he was so good why isn't he signed already?

Nice to see them trying to address some possible problem areas but I don't see any linemen yet.  Sucks that the positions that are hardest to fill via free agents are the same ones they've been ass at drafting.

Howard used to make a million dollars a week. Maybe he thinks he's still worth half that much per game and the team disagrees. Or maybe they will make him another offer after the bye. That's the sort of thing cheap teams do.

That's our Bengals... blow off trades at the deadline

and dumpster dive cast off free agents.

Who turn them down.

It’s not like signing guys mid season who are not in the league is going to make a major impact on the team.

I can't decide whether this is funny or sad.

I guess Door Dash is more to Howard's liking. Maybe it pays more.

Thod s wasn't playing well

Hasn't for a couple seasons

His coverage skills are bad now.

What if the Katietroy & Duke troika are equally bad at running a football team?  Just asking questions.oke

Mike taught them all well...😎

It does send a message when they're trying to replace people with randoms off the street.

They have no plans to sign any player that's more than mediocre.

They'll probably low-ball Chase as well.

If they don't sign Chase they know they'll lose a ton of the fan base so they have to

That's probably true but they've had fan bases during the horrid seasons.

They know this.

Drafting Burrow and Chase has been the only great thing this org has done.

How hard was that?

Wouldn't it be the shits if they tagged Chase next year like with Higgins?

They'll ride JBs talent status quo until his contract is up or he wants a trade

Ja'Marr isn't a free agent until 2026, the team has a $21 mil option for next year - that's kind of been the crux of the extension hangup.

If they did try to tag him for 2026 he'd probably hold out for real and I doubt anyone would blame him.

Really not a huge fan of these orange pants

Neither am I, which is kinda weird considering I like the orange jersey

Didn't know the game was flexed into Sunday nite 8:20 start.

The matchup between two of the best QBs and the fate of both teams could hinge on it is viewer worthy

Bengals win ..53% change of playoffs.

Bengals lose. 22 %chance.

Didn't matter where this game was played, or what the weather conditions would have been. The Bengals were curb-stomping the Chargers (again) either way. I can still taste how sweet that win was.

One of my favorite sports memories ever was the regular season game in San Diego during that 1981 season. Bengals led 17-7 and SD was driving late in the first half for a TD that would have narrowed the lead to 17-14. My expectation was that they'd score and eventually beat the Bengals, because they were the Chargers, the game was in San Diego, and the Bengals Cinderella run had to end sometime soon, or so I assumed. Instead, Louis Breeden intercepted Fouts in the end zone and returned it something like 104 yards for a TD that made it 24-7 at the half. The SD crowed was stunned and so was I.

The Bengals were THE better team that year, the second-best team in the NFL. Long-forgotten fact: The Bengals won more games than any NFL team over the 1981 and 1982 seasons and had the best record in the NFL over those two years.

1982 was a disaster year… from that stupid strike to Freeman McNeil. They could have won 1,000 games and it would never feel great.

That guy’s name haunts my dreams. What an utter shit show of a game and a terrible way for Forrest Gregg’s tenure in cincy to end.

I still carry a grudge against the Jets for this.

In a surprise move, the Seattle Seahawks have made a former Buffalo Billslinebacker available for hire in the middle of the 2024 NFL season.

The Seahawks (4-5) have released Tyrel Dodson. The 26-year-old only signed in Seattle this past offseason after his 2023 season in Buffalo ended and he became a free agent.

Most interestingly, Dodson made 71 tackles for the Seahawks defense, a team-high, and he also totaled two sacks, two pass breakups, and five tackles for loss ... and while he was released, he started all nine games for the team this year.

We're OK at linebacker but is this guy better than Bachie or Njongeta (who I like).

Whattaya think, Vern?
