The Bengals signed OT Devin Cochran off the practice squad. (he'd been elevated twice this season on game day)

They also signed G Andrew Stueber to the Practice Squad on Friday. I guess he got over the Thanksgiving Day betrayal.

And I'm guessing he'll retain his #73.

A nephew of a colleague was in the NFL for 5 years. In that time he was on 6 different teams, and 6 different practice squads. He was waived/ resigned 10 times. He was on an active roster for only parts of 2 seasons.

Guess guys like this develop some thick skin!

imo what you see with Burton is that it's one thing to do it in practice, and another in a game, if he has his immaturity behind him he just needs more snaps

Immaturity behind him?

Don't think so

His behavior/performance this season hasn't earned him any further playing time.  It's all based upon talent, which is certainly there.  I'm of the position he needs some tough love and a seat in the pressbox for a few weeks.  If he doesn't get the message you kick him to the curb.  There are expectations for a winning team.  Hard work is one of them.  Coddling children is not what a good organization does.

More nonsense from the talking heads who are contractually obligated to generate a minimum number of clicks (or so I assume, I mean, this is some stupid shit):

Not sure why anyone watching this garbage.  I didn't.  These guys have to fill tons and tons of time and get people fired up to watch.  It's a requirement to say a bunch of stupid shit.  Unwatchable unless you like killing brain cells.

The only thing I try to extract from such "conversations" is, how much of it is agent-injected and how much of it is nonsense filler?  That's not easy or maybe even possible, but agent-injected narratives can lead to actual roster outcomes, so I try to interpret what that might mean.  The NFL isn't as susceptible to such narratives as other leagues are (the NBA being the obvious one).

With that said, do I think this one has agent-speak in it?  Nah, it really does just play off as pure filler.

I know they needed a linebacker to be brought up, but they couldn’t have found someone else to cut besides Irwin ?

Hubbard would be the obvious choice but I guess they're going to let him keep playing hurt for no discernible reason

We have this Disney cartoon bengals vs Dallas coming up. Bengals care more about cartoons and making money its business for family. Even Zach said oh we got Monday night coming up. Zach no one cares about Bart Simpson money grab. The franchise does to maximize profits. It took browns years just to get a bubble then they never use it and are still not a physical team . Can we replace all this with ai and Tesla robots. Maybe we can get some high school players cheap.
