He was also one of the 2 greatest college players ever Foot problems led to his demise. Wouldn't take cortisone shots as he knew it was just masking the problem. He was a sports hero to many.. His sister, Mary Ellen, was hot. Report

September 25, 20241 yr Author comment_1765168 Mims and TBrown played together on one play with Mims as the 6th OL and he drove his guy in the backfield ... ... About an hour later, this guy got his wish, and Mims was the starter after Brown's injury. Report
September 25, 20241 yr Author comment_1765169 Ok, I just realized what happened on the one sack Mims "gave up" Monday night. And I am not even sure it's really his fault. Cappa goes to pull (for some dumb reason considering it's a passing play) and the DE runs in behind him basically, but I don't think Mims realized Cappa was pulling. I even wonder if Cappa didn't think it was a running play to the left. Normally there would be RG there, which is what I am sure Mims thought based on how he played it (kicked outward as if he thought the DE would go to his right). Here is the play from afar so you can see Cappa pull left and create the void ... S0ibbO1NasO4-Hxg.mp4 Here is a behind view which shows Cappa is not even in the frame of this video at all, he pulls out so fast that I almost wondered from this view if he was even on the field ... Guys are getting underneath him sometimes and working him back to the QB pretty quick. They didn't result in sacks but the play was clearly disrupted with some early throws or JB having to escape outside. He wasn't getting blown up but he was getting beat. Also looks a bit lost trying to pull/trap etc on run plays where he's expected to move. He's slow to the spot or hesitant engaging, other times doesn't really get into the target & it's more a halfassed shove. I would blame most of that on a rookie that's still having to think too much - as he gets comfortable in these assignments that should translate to more aggressive blocking. On at least 2-3 of those plays though his man ends up being involved in the tackle when he probably could've pancaked the guy if he's there a half-step sooner & really commits. Again not perfect but nothing unusual for a very green rookie, & all of it correctable Report

You can see he has all the athletic ability to do everything they're asking of him, just needs to settle down enough to let that shine through. Sky's the limit if he gets the right coaching. Wish I had more confidence in Pollack to make that happen. Report
