Very similar in that the motivation could be seen as control of oil reserves.  Same for the phony excuses for the invasions.  I don't think we had any intention of invading neighboring countries to reunify a former empire, however.  I do believe Putin would like to recreate the USSR.

 

In other words the 2003 invasion of Iraq was also wrong, and we paid for that mistake.  Not near as much as Ukraine is costing Russia, but a mistake for certain.

How effective would Trump be if he is re-elected President if he can't even travel to some of the countries of our most loyal allies?
