Funny observation:

This whole forum for 6 straight says:

1. Browns defense is really good, they always play well, gonna be tough to score.

2. Watson is a bitch, gotta shut that dude down and not let them score

3. gonna be another AFCN battle of ohio slobberknocker, just gotta come out on top....

* Game Happens *

1. browns defense is indeed good and tough to dice up

2. watson is a bitch and was shut down.

3. was an afcn battle of ohio slobberknocker, and we did come out on top.

Fans in here:

😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Fucking someone needs fired!!!!1111

lmao wtf.

The Good:

Chuck Sizzled, great to see, gave us an immediate buffer and helped prevent them from trying to force the run game on us being down from the jump

Tee and jamarr made some great catches as plays as usual, its almost commonplace but still they are so good.

Mims - didnt see his name called for anything negative i dont think?

4 sacks is great. you can tell with guys and depth getting back healthy is improving that part of the game, and its clear having them back has steadied the run defense as well.

their RB's overage 2.0, 2.0, and 2.5 YPC for the game. and total of 33 rushing yards from thier 3 backs total is incredible. Young QB ran on. few long ones, total of all combined for 77 rushing yards. excellent job by the front 7.

The Bad:

Money Mac missed another FG. with the kicking woes from the browns was there a chippy wind? was the field fucked up? was it 4 total kicks missed? very strange kicking game from everyone today.

Rehkow was human today. solid so not in the bad, but in comparion he was just average.  8 punts for 44.3 per. one was 58. which means several shorter than 40. probably shouldnt be in the bad, but it wasnt in the good. and i dont have an average category.

giving up 3 sacks isa. bummer, one was joe not forcing something riskier, but a sack is a sack.

The ugliest:

Still a few missed tackles, nothing like week 1, but its to the point where fans in here are calling guys making moves and falling as missed tackles, which isnt true.. i think there were maybe 2-3 missed tackles, which is pretty standard in an NFL game.

Volson continues to  do loud bad things, he was quiet bad for years, his bad is getting louder. if Ford is the backup LT id imagine he could play solid LG. but coaches know better than us. as much as i hate volson, they have a reason for not pulling him that we arent aware of. Holding happens, but in typicaly volson form, his holding was on a second level block where he had space, size, and should ahve had the angle advantage on the LB,

secondary is old or banged up. hopefully stone can play and OBJ also, i swear i watched stoned leg break, everyone did, they put it in an air cast..  how was it not broken? does he have rubber bones?

I think we need to address both G positions - saw Cappa get blown up on a Burrow sack, just absolutely dominated. He's not on Volson's level, but he's getting up there from what I see.

Regarding Punter:  it sure seemed like the Browns started a majority of their drives from their own 10-yard line.

I’ll take it…and not scrutinize his avg. distance.

Cleveland’s starting point after a Bengals punt:

CL 37 - 47-yd punt (to 26), 11 yd return

CL 9 - 46-yd punt, fair catch

CL 9 - 45-yd punt, fair catch

CL 22 - 48-yd punt (to 16), 6 yd return

CL 20 - 38-yd punt (to 15), 5 yd return

CL 11 - 29-yd punt (to 11), downed by Bengals

CL 19 - 58-yd punt (to 12), 7 yd return

CIN 48 - 43-yd punt (to 38), 14 yd return

MAYBE the first and last punts are suspect…but overall, I’d say that’s a solid outing.

Would be even better if he was a better holder.

BTW,,, on one punt yesterday the snap back almost hit him in the face.

this is a bit overreactionary.

Volson and Cappa shouldnt even have the same profession, let alone be compared to eachother. while cappa hasnt had a tellar year, he is pretty vital in line calls and communicating with joe pre snap along with karras, id estimate about 27 nfl teams would gladly replaced someone on thier roster with Cappa. he has been playing next to a washed old man and a rookie all season, rookie coming along nicely. everyone gets got now and then. He is sort of stranded with Karras helping with Volson regularly, he is facing the best interior pass rusher himself pretty often. Ill have to go back and watch him a bit more. sometimes defenders just get leverage on you, just a lot louder when it happens.

both distance and returnability were down, im not saying he was bad but was his worst punting performance i remember this year. wasnt anything special. our stalling drives at mid field were more of a factor than his punting it seems.

36

46

45

42

33

29

51

29

so 3 bad results, 2 decent results, 3 good results. in my nonsensical opinion.

Looking just at the NET punt is not fair to the punter.  One of your three “bad results” was a 29-yard punt THAT WAS DOWNED AT THE 11-YARD LINE.

His first and last punts are the only ones that might be considered as bad…and without rewatching those punts, I don’t know how much of the blame goes to him instead of the coverage team.

Or even there long snapper to some degree.

I said in another post one of the snaps looked like it almost hit him in the face seemed a bit off to the right.

dunno...

On the one punt where he got a roll he visibly and angrily cursed and gesticulated.  I figure he'd say he got lucky on that one.

curious how much that effect kickers, the lines on the field should be most of the guide, like shouldnt he be able to kick it ithout even looking? like a proper golf swing.. i dont know so i dont wanna assume.

thats totally, fair, however in all non-endzeone related net deficiencies, its fair, as hang time and not outkicking your coverage is a big part of it. but you are 100% fair on the 11 yardline one.. i always wonder at that short of a distance why punters arent good enough to kick it out of bound in the air at like the 5 with some regularity.

Looks like I hit the nail on the head, with my trashing of Counterfeit Mac.

Or is McFraud.

Shocking the Eagles still have the better kicker - who was of course a Bengal draft pick.  Comical.

I can’t take credit for this, it belongs to Claptonrocks.  He coined the nickname MaybeMac.  Love it!

58 yards rushing on 20 carries.  2.9 per carry.  Almost the same numbers last week. The longest run today was 8 yards by Burrow. Just nothing in our running game.

Eagles had 1 more offensive play than the Bengals but 117 more yards.

Bengals look like a 3-5 team.

And their longest rush by a RB was... 5 yards. Brutal. Hey, Joe had an 8-yarder!

The Eagles have a solid front 7, but it's not (for example) Cleveland or Pittsburgh. The Bengals' OL just sucks.

I try to be as optimistic as I can, but realistically from what they've shown on the field, they'll be lucky to win 7 games. Their defense is horrific - with overrated talent.  They can't run the ball, and their FG kicker is missing makable FGs. Not a lot to be bulish about, but I'll keep watching since I paid for NFL Sunday Ticket.
