For non-Indiana residents:

Indiana is a basketball state.

I live in Bloomington, arguably the basketball capital of Indiana.

The Pacers play barely an hour up the road from Bloomington.

It has been my observation that nobody here really cares about the Pacers.

They may be a thing in Indianapolis, I wouldn't argue against that at all. But unless the Pacers have a following elsewhere in the state - which +might+ be true, but is hard to fathom if those in Bloomington are largely apathetic about them - they're seemingly just an Indianapolis thing.

I don't think it's a college vs pro thing, because there are huge Colts followings here, as well as those following the Indy Eleven (USL), and a sizable Indpls Indians (MiLB) contingency.  But in 20 years of living here, nobody has ever said "hey, let's go watch the Pacers." Not once. And I think they've played like 700-800 home games up there during my time down here.

Maybe it's demographics? Except for the urban centers like Indy, Ft Wayne, and the Chicago suburbs, the state is fairly monochrome. High school and college hoops dominate the fanscape over the majority of the state. Pro hoops? Not so much.

The Pacers are currently in the bottom ten for average attendance this season. They were next-to-last last season. Next-to-last the season before. Dead last the season before that.

Don't get me wrong. I follow unpopular teams as well. The BattleHawks in the XFL/UFL, Saskatchewan in the XFL, the Blues in the NHL, and of course the Bengals. The Pacers DO have fans. Somebody cares. And God bless those that do. It's just not that many of us.

Was going to wait until 20 game ( ,quarter season out of the gates.)

Pacers are playing to their potential expected with Mathurin becoming a solid SF

Haliburton is on the worst shooting slump in his life

What happened?

He was playing superstar up to the NBA tourney.

After that he lost his touch to hit his shots .

Hes at ,37.5 ,% and those totals would be bench worthy.

If he can't find the touch sign the Pacers will have to look at others to

cap his miss shots..

Has Haliburton finally found his shooting touch again.

I complained about his dismal start but he scored 62 pts in last 2 games hitting 50%

Theyre at 9-10 now and if he's truly back their run and gun game will prosper .
