I actually get nostalgic for Marvin's days. Sure, we couldn't win playoff games, but I never feared that the team would be outcoached or outsmarted schematically. Those losses seemed to be a lack of top end talent and inadequacy from the Red Water Pistol. But now I am starting to wonder and have questions about how the actual games are being managed and which plays are being called on offense and defense. Quote

And I have to wonder about their competency. First of all, do we need "ORANGE SOCKS" spelled out to see that the players will be wearing orange socks? But even if that is the way you choose to go, who had the brain spasm to put "ORANGE SOCKS" next to the black jersey, and "BLACK TOPS" next to the orange socks? You compose your image in a way that subliminally reinforces what you're trying to convey. You don't include things that subliminally confuse the viewer. Taylor has become a hazard in play calling. Guess he thinks Dan Pitcher sucks at it..🙄 Annarumo never blitzed the entire game. Guess he thinks the pressure and sacks from the Dline are good enough .🙄 What a long strange trip we're on.. 1 1 Quote

Arkansas Bengal Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Game Predictions: Las Vegas Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, Nov 3rd 2024 1:00 pm Eastern Summary The 2-6 Raiders lost their chance to draw closer to the Chiefs when they lost to them 27-20 last week. The 3-5 Bengals are not much better coming off their 37-17 loss to the visiting Eagles. The homefield Bengals should handle this without too much trouble, but it will be their first home win in five games this year. Team Notes: The Raiders are already aiming for another disappointing season, and they've sent their best offensive player off for a draft pick. But they are still playing games closely. The Chiefs just beat them 27-20, and the Rams won 20-15. That may be related to opponents not preparing or caring much in games that they know they can win. But the Raiders defense is their strength and the lack of a credible quarterback is their weekly limitation. The rest of the season isn't shaping up to be any better. The Raiders go onto their bye in Week 10. That gives Jakobi Meyers a chance to rest and completely heal from his high-ankle sprain, because his workload will surely be heavy ongoing as the primary wideout. Player Notes: Brock Bowers has been the most consistent receiver for the Raiders and yet scored only once. He's already caught over eight passes in four games, and his workload also remains high as one of the few reliable receivers. Jakoby Meyers was questionable last week after missing two games with a high-ankle sprain, but they still managed to catch six passes for 52 yards and score. DJ Turner had a season-best four catches for 28 yards and a score, but only Bowers and Meyers matter, and the Raiders will need to pass a lot. Alexander Mattison has taken over as the primary back, while Zamir White has all but disappeared and lost a yard over his two carries in the game. Mattison only gained 15 yards on 14 rushes against the Chiefs, but the Raiders are comfortable with Mattison who caught a season-high five passes for 29 yards last week. Match to the Defense: The Bengals are no better than average on defense and even rate No. 29 against fantasy quarterbacks. But the Raiders are equally bad when they pass, and Gardner Minshew rarely throws for much more than 200 yards. Over seven games, he threw just six scores. Add in this is a road game, and the only fantasy-relevant players are Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers. Minshew will throw more than 30 passes each week, and those two will attract most of the targets. Alexander Mattison is also an option. The Bengals have allowed ten rushing touchdowns and Mattison has become the workhorse for the backfield. Team Notes: The Bengals face their softest matchup of the season this week, and their only wins have been against the weakest of opponents. The offense is still sluggish whenever facing an average or better defense, and as usual, the passing effort is almost solely dedicated to connecting with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. With Higgins out with a quad injury, the passing effort takes a major step backward. Higgins injured himself last Friday and was inactive. I'll hold him from the projections to start the week and track for his status. Next week, the Bengals head to Baltimore for their toughest matchup and the closest they'll come to the playoffs. They need to take advantage of this week. Player Notes: With Tee Higgins out last week, Ja'Marr Chase fielded 11 targets but only gained 54 yards on nine receptions and scored. He's already a marked man for the secondary, and the coverage is even greater when Higgins is out. Mike Gesicki stepped up with seven catches for 73 yards in the loss to the Eagles. That was his second seven-catch performance of the year and the previous one was another game that Higgins missed. Gesicki carries no reliable fantasy value unless Higgins is inactive. The Bengals' run game is only average and gets split up between Zack Moss and Chase Brown. The duo have swapped roles as the season progresses. Moss started the year with 12 to 15 carries per game but now only had five last week. Brown began with only three or four runs weekly but now is taking care of the 12 to 15 rushes. They share eight touchdowns between them, but Moss has not scored since Week 4, while Brown notched three touchdowns over the four recent games. Match to the Defense: The Raiders will give up yards and scores to running backs and total of nine touchdowns and three 100-yard rushers already. Expect Chase Brown to log at least moderate to good yardage and one touchdown, with upside for more. Zack Moss lost his fantasy value beyond three or four receptions. The Raiders have been dinged via the pass, but most opponents end up rushing the ball for the win. Joe Burrow is unreliable for more than moderate yardage and one score unless he is facing an opponent with a weak secondary and a potent offense that forces him to play catch-up for most of the game. That is not the Raiders. Ja'Marr Chase is a must start, as is Tee Higgins if he plays. If not, expect Gesicki to offer moderate yardage. https://tools.thehuddle.com/in-season/predictions/analysis/18864009/81815 1 Quote

It's one thing if these injuries would be freaky things but they're repeated hamstrings and now a quad out of nowhere. Makes me wonder if this will eventually hurt his eventual $ figure on the open market with a "good" team with cap as opposed to some bottom feeder paying for talent. Quote

Guess that depends on if not playing hurts his value more than playing and further injuring himself thus hirting his value more and if he is risking that would you want him to play? Quote
