Might as well make a thread for following the results and any fuckery. Trump's had 4 years to plot another coup. Ballot boxes set on fire in at least 3 states. Guy was arrested in Phoenix for shooting the local DNC office and hanging anti-Dem signs with razor blades and bags of white powder with biohazard stickers attached. Powder turned out to be inert but that's still multiple terrorism charges for that genius. Very patriotic.

Lots of other issues on the state ballots, not to mention control of the house where Johnson intends to refuse to certify any Harris/Walz victory. Already lawsuits in several states meant to invalidate blocks of voters.

Basically we're witnessing a concerted attack on democracy & the next few months are going to be.. interesting.

I’ll be curious to see how long my son waits tomorrow at our local precinct. Hubby and I voted early last weekend and waited about 50 minutes, but the line this weekend was over 2 hours.

I saw the one set on fire in Washington, where were the other two?

One in Phoenix, one in Portland.

Dropped mine off at the county seat dropbox earlier.  Drove right through, no line, no armed dipshits trying to intimidate people like 4 years ago.

These are not smart people. If they were smart they would be doing this in battleground states. AZ ok, but Oregon and Washington (state) seem like it is just "I hate liberals" stuff than any attempt at trying to change the result.

It may not be that simple.  They need to control the House to keep Johnson seated, if he's replaced as Speaker their plan to refuse to certify is DOA.  (Here's hoping).

Also creates uncertainty in the entire process, which serves their purpose.

He went in the middle of the day and got right in, no wait.

I had no issue either, the only time I have ever had to wait is Obama's first election.

I suspect the early voting becoming more normal has a lot to do with this.

How we watched them attack our capital and he still is likely to win.

The project 2025 stuff is objectively bad.

A loyalty oath for government workers takes away anyone who might disagree with him. You can't be an expert in your field, the qualification will be loyalty. I'm not overreacting either, it's called Schedule F.

I know people want to talk about other things but I'm very serious that this is how 3rd world countries behave. This is what fascism looks like.

Work for the CDC and have an opinion on some disease that is killing people that might make him look bad? Can't share that opinion.

Work for the department of defense and have an opinion on a foreign conflict that might make one of our advisories stronger that might make him look bad? Can't have that opinion.

There is going to be a real danger in not being allowed to have experts in place to solve problems we may face because they disagree with the President

Everyone regardless of party should oppose that. The problems it's going to cause us are immeasurable

That's my biggest fear - the first time he at least pretended to surround himself with capable people, even though he quickly got rid of them. This time, will be NOTHING but sycophants and loonies. No safety rails.

With total control, what are his followers going to do when he doesn't magically erase all their debts? When these "medbeds" don't appear to cure them all like Star Trek? When grocery prices don't suddenly return to pre-COVID levels? When they still hear people speaking other languages?

What's going to happen when instead they get tariffs, lose Medicare and Social Security...

Couldn't possibly be Trump's fault, can't accept they were lied to and he's full of shit. They're going to need scapegoats, and that's when it's going to get really ugly.

America wanted change.

The previous admin was incredibly incompetent

The Senate in Overwhelming Republican again.

Hopefully house follows suit.

We're can go ahead forward with making our country viable all over the world once again

I congratulate the voters who saw thru the idiocy of Harris.

Now liberals can cry and whine to no avail once again.

I hope I'm wrong about him, this country can't survive Authortiatarinism

But I don't think I am.

I hope if things get bad people like you take an honest look at why and stop watching things that confirm your biases.

We'll see where we are at in a few years.

How were they incompetent?

How are we not viable all over the world?

He said he was done with Trump when he added Vance.
