How Time Flies.

 

On this date, 50 years ago, I left for boot camp at Great Lakes. A lot of water has passed under this particular bridge! I salute the vets here, especially the squids.

You must have gone thru the new facilities by that time.

I caught the tail end of Camp Berry which was antiquated by then.

I'm not sure, but if my memory serves, the place did seem a little run down. Not in a bad sense, just in a well-used sense. What I do remember well is doing fucking pushups in six inches of snow. Like a reverse snow-angel!

I believe you were at the new quarters.

I think I was at the old one for a week before going over to the new barracks.

I was impressed by it after the stay at Camp Barry..

Food was great..lol
