Not so sure. I think he falls to us. Whether they draft him is another story. Like I said, if he is and they don't Tobin is worthless evaluating top priorities for the team 1 Quote
Randle P McMurphy Posted December 5, 2024 Report Posted December 5, 2024 If they're picking in the top 10 they need to trade back and get more picks regardless. (Not that I really have any faith in them hitting on draft picks!), but the more picks they have, the better chance they hit on one! lol This team has too many holes to fill. It's not like they're one top 10 pick away from competing and we all know how the F.O. operates when it comes to FA's. They wait and go after tier 2 or tier 3 FA's and hope for the best! 😡 Besides, after giving Chase a giant contract, (IF they don't screw that up!), and redoing Hendrickson's contract, (he only has a little over $2 million guaranteed next year and he's going to want more guaranteed!), they're going to say they don't have the cap space to do anything else! I hope they bring in a rookie as well. I've seen this guy kick in Cleveland, and the fact that my son said "Good luck with that" and laughed at the signing tells me all I need to know. Just no. 1 Quote
Bleeds Orange Posted December 10, 2024 Report Posted December 10, 2024 Cade York looked fine tonight. Let's say he makes all the kicks he supposed to over the next three games, the Bengals win all three to get to 8-8, and are in the playoff hunt (yeah, slim chance, I know) heading into the final game at Pittsburgh. McPherson is eligible to come off IR, says he feels good, and wants to play. Do you sit York down and use McPherson, instead? 1 Quote

|High School Harry| Posted December 10, 2024 Author Report Posted December 10, 2024 I hope he does well here. At the end of the season we will be able to trade him before we cut him to a team in need of a kicker who doesn't think he will fall to them on the waiver wire. Quote

Kinda like they traded Jake Browning to a QB needy team last offseason for a 2nd round pick? C'mon man! Quote

Still think there was more to the Mixon story than Joe Baggadonuts fans knows. Kind of like Sheldon Rankins's mystery virus. Quote

Mixon had 7 years with around 6,000 rushing yards and 49 TD's and all we got was a 7th. York was a 4th round pick dumped by Cleveland of all teams after 1 season. He'd have to have a run like McPherson did his rookie season the rest of this season to have any trade value and I don't see that happening. Even after going 2-2 last night, he's still only hit 50% of his FG tries this year. (He was 0-2 in Washington) Quote

Just if he looks good enough the last four games maybe we can get a 7th for him. Or not. I dunno... Would be nice if he landed somewhere. Quote

UncleEarl Posted December 10, 2024 Report Posted December 10, 2024 York get a tryout. If he does well you bring him to camp to compete with McPherson. See what happens. Easy. 2 Quote

It's worth noting that if York had gone 3 for 4 instead of 4 for 4 on field goal attempts tonight, the Bengals would have lost. Despite nearly costing them the game last week, I'd still invite him to camp to serve notice to McPherson that the team is serious about having a kicker that can make field goals, and is not content to miss the playoffs because of it again. IMO, the jury is still out on him. Keep in mind, he lost his job to Dustin Hopkins in Cleveland, and Hopkins is abysmal. I give him props for making 4 FGs last night in Acrisure, which is a tough place to kick, but none of them were really long. I know, he made a 59 yarder last week, but he missed an easier one also. I’m hoping that McPherson’s injury gives him time to get rid of his yips. 1 Quote

I'd like to see a replay of the botched kick off. I still don't know what happened. I Back the Mac and hope York becomes the next Fat Randy and makes a lot of bucks from a number of other desperate teams for years to come. 1 Quote

WAY WORSE. he has missed nearly a third of his FG under 40 yards.. hes good enough but the guy who is 87% under 40 yards should be cut?!?!??! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT 1 Quote
