About the only complaint I find is the radiant heating systems aging out on them. To be expected on an older home. Hell anything over 20 years it's probably worth replacing most of the appliances. Tank water heaters alone are comically wasteful. Report

July 30, 2025Jul 30 comment_1799802 Short-sighted opponents of the current regime are ineffective. In fact, these critics sometimes serve to divert attention away from what is going on, structurally, in this country. And that's not a good thing. Instead of blaming the idiots who support the grifters, go after the grifters themselves. This article by Matt Stoller is a useful antidote to a lot of the nonsense that creates a lot of meaningless white noise in our culture:Into the Abyss: Trump's Bizarro New Deal Report

Paramount or Xitter? That's not how I would describe Harvard, either. I see shaking down megacorps that displease Donny the Diddler as more a fickle, mob goon tactic than a matter of economic policy. He can't handle dissent and definitely can't take a joke - a tremendous quality in the "Leader of the Free World".Bizzaro, certainly. I'm sure there's coherent, deliberate policy being fed to him between tantrums but the overall direction changes with the wind. Thank goodness the sick fucks behind the scenes are also fake "Chomos for Jesus" WP trash that have hitched their wagons to such a buffoon. If they weren't so busy circumventing the law, raiding public funds and trying to create a whites-only homeland with their child-brides all this other stuff might stand a better chance. Report

Until the Dodge Ram comes up-armored with a turret they're not likely to ever set foot in NYC. Besides, wouldn't it be up to the state to decide? Or is that only valid for slavery & lowering the age of consent? They should just ignore it like they ignore the human suffering that prompted the idea. Report
August 30, 2025Aug 30 comment_1802438 I recommend "Bad Samaritans" frequently. Another heterodox economist who does similar research (development economics with an historical twist) is Erik Reinert. I was introduced to him many moons ago when I encountered a paper he wrote on Renaissance economics. Report
