Why can't both sides compromise?

Doesn’t seem to be in the cards 🤷‍♂️

If you can't compromise imho both parties are in the wrong.

Too much pride here.

Agreed.

Exactly. But what we all do not know is - how much has each side already moved? For example, the team may have already moved to over “halfway”. Or Trey may have.

Sometimes, one side will simply not move or not make to move.

Seems pretty obvious the team is in the wrong here. They promised him a new contract last year but don't want to make good this year and screwed up their chance to trade him for value in March. So they let him see behind door #2 but don't want to match that to keep him. I bet if their offer to him was 30 mil for 2025 only and no tag next year, he'd take that. But they won't offer it as they seem to think it would just be paying an extra 14 mil for a guy they already have signed.

Excpet they likely did notpromise him a certian value, just an extension. Did they promise him Top 5 DE money? Or top 10? Or just a promise to extend with little to no parameters?

Nobody knows exactly what was promised to him last year to get him to drop his trade request and report for training camp. Trey said something like "they promised to take care of me after the season". At the time the team was claiming they couldn't do a new deal with Trey due to a 12 month limit on contract increases and waiting until the limit expired would put things into preseason and they didn't want to negotiate by that point (ignoring they signed Burrow to his extension the day before the season started).

Shedeur Sanders was projected to go as early as No. 2 before his inexplicable draft slide. The Cleveland Browns finally selected Sanders in the fifth round of last month's NFL Draft.

On Monday, the Browns said Sanders signed his rookie contract. ESPN reported that Sanders' four-year rookie deal is valued at $4.6 million.

The latest NFL collective bargaining agreement introduced fixed rookie pay scales, which effectively eliminates negotiations. Since Sanders was the 144th overall pick, he was slotted to earn $4.6 million on his first contract.

And a quarter pounder who is out for the year is above Kenny Pickett.

It's entirely explicable. He was grossly overrated and came off as entitled. If his name was John Johnson he probably wouldn't have been drafted at all.

Stop disrespecting Dillon Gabriel!

And Watson has been reported to be out of his walking boot and throwing to his receivers. Seems like he's going to try to play this season. That will screw up the Browns plans to collect their insurance payout. It will also add some extra stink to their QB room.

The “Tush Push” is a brilliant move. Is it “unstoppable”? Hardly. Rather than trying to ban it…ask for some rule countermeasures—such as allowing defenders to “assist” the defensive linemen by pushing them forward.

Ultimate scrum.

The league for years had a rule against assisting a runner by pushing or pulling them forward. Then pushing them forward got approved while pulling them forward was still banned.

It’s interesting that the Bills voted to ban  it while also being one of the teams that runs it best.  At least against everyone except the Chiefs.
