The 2 DJs next up on the outside. Backup nickel spot up for grabs. Report

There is a depth problem at center with Matt Lee being hurt at the moment.I really liked Moss the player and person, but as you say, it’s a brutal sport. After reading PDJ’s article in The Athletic and hearing the latest Growler pod, I kinda was leaning that he wasn’t gonna make it here. I guess he can take some consolation in getting the guaranteed money they renegotiated, and perhaps take more time to rehab and make another go of it elsewhere. That said, back issues like that, with a young family… really risky. Not saying it can’t happen to a healthy player, but I would think he would be more susceptible… and that’s not even considering the mental part. He obviously wanted to continue playing, so I wish him the best. Class guy. Report
July 30, 20251 yr comment_1799850 Mildly surprised. Its probably happened before but I can't recallthem signing a free agent for a few bucks andcutting him early in training camp.Of course, I can think of a few they should have. And they must really like Brooks.Like Seth McLaughlin. > Lee, perhaps? They just restructured it this offseason to reduce his cap hit but increase his guarantee. He broke a vertebra in his back in a game last year but the team had him on the Non-Football Injury list for lack of conditioning. So he wasn't doing team drills, just individual work on the sideline in camp. Report

I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. For sure - know some folks who had it and some really had a tough go for awhile. It usually affects older peeps but I knew a 40-something who had a bad case and obviously a younger Rankins did too. Glad he’s ok and back playing. And I’m glad he was able maintain his privacy during that time, as much as some wanted to vilify him for malingering. Report
