On some level... Why not interview as many potential DC's as possible? Even if you don't want to hire him, he might the Ravens DC in two years, and you've had the opportunity to sit him in a room and get him to explain his scheme and how he thinks in depth. If you've already decided on Golden, why not interview the Ravens LB coach and the Stealers secondary coach for scouting purposes???

"So, how do you like to disguise coverages again?? Let's break down some tape."

Brilliant idea, Lost.

Why not?  It costs money (flights, meals, lodging)…and Bengals’ management just doesn’t recognize the potential benefit???

Good strat and I like the way you think but as El Tigre pointed out (paraphrasing):

Because it would be easier for them not to.

Tomlin will be there as long as he drives.

Tooneys love the guy for many reasons.

I hate the Inbreds but to say Tomlin. Is not a top tier coach is

ridiculous...

Even worse loss for Ben Johnson.

They scored 28 despite their many turnovers

If anything, he may have lifted his stock

Florio's theory is the Bears called the Stealers, not with an expectation that Tomlin is available, but to signal to potential hires that they are willing to pay up for a coach. Tomlin is thought to be one of the 5 highest paid NFL HCs and Ben Johnson supposedly got 13.5 mil on his new deal. That's better than typical new head coach money of around 8 mil. Of course Zac probably still doesn't make that much.

Tomlin and the Stealers re locked in together.

It won't change.

I hope "Mediocre Mike" stays there.

At least long enough for him to tie or beat Marvin Lewis' record for most playoff losses in a row.

Mediocre Mike would get many job offers for a HC  if he was free from Pittsburgh..

Hate the team but Tomlin has kept them relative for yrs.

Hrs not going nowhere.😎

Amazing how McDaniels always lands back on his feet after he takes another hit.

Dude is destined to work for the Pats lol

Looks like Trey Brown is one of the 3 finalists for the Jets GM job. They interviewed a ton of guys for the position, but it seems like only 3 have been invited back for second interviews.

I'm torn on this. I would like the draft compensation that would come with a Trey Brown hire for the Jets, but worry that he might be the most effective person in the Bengals front office.

Brown has only been here since 2021, do we think we were horrible drafting before 2021?
