I don't want him unless he's bringing Maxx Crosby with him.

He didn't have a ton to work with over there, but they had a few dudes like Gonzalez, White and Duggar... and they played solid D overall.  I wonder if they'd consider Jerod Mayo? He was a good DC in NE as well, before he was elevated to HC.

We will see how this goes. It may be that Zac Taylor doesn't want any ex-head coaches as his defensive coordinator. There are a lot of ex-head coaches available with strong defensive coordinator backgrounds. Maybe he prefers young up-and-comers.

Right. I didn't know he was just a first-year DC last year but he was with the team in various roles, including LB and DL position coach, for 8 years. Zac mentioned wanting experienced guys (I thought), so at least as a DC, that's pretty lean. But they played the Bengals tough in game one last year so maybe that's part of his interest in talking to him.

I was mainly talking about Jerod Mayo and other ex-head coaches.

Wasn't that part of the thinking with bringing in Sheldon Rankins last year? Because he had half of his sacks the year before against the Bengals? How did that work out?

May as well bring in big Willie Anderson to interview for line coach..

No thanks.  He was pimping Carman.  That's a huge red X for me.

I wouldn't necessarily blame Zac for that.  We all know the Bengals aren't big in the pay department, and big names like some of the ex-head coaches mentioned are going to want larger salaries and more control which the Bengals don't give up easily either.

Well, count me as mildly surprised the Bengals did it.  It was the right move.  The defense did not work well at all this season, and you can't totally blame that on players and injuries.  I watched veterans confused and out of position.  That's on coaching.  Maybe Anuromo's defense was too complicated, or maybe he wasn't communicating it well.  Either way it is time for a new voice.  Glad the did it.  It's the kind of thing good organizations do....have standards and expectations?  Something the Bengals have been short on in the past.

I also think the Monday bloodletting of coaches is a message to Taylor.  You are coming back.  You can pick your new coaches.  If this doesn't work, you are next.

Maybe he doesn't want his mid-season replacement on the coaching staff...

Has he ever had a good defense?

I think he had  defense with the giants and was the coordinator when they beat the cheatriots in the Super Bowl 21 to 17

I've been struggling to do this too. Something has changed.

Dude, it's really brutal right now. Idk what changed with X, but I typically have to paste the link several times, sometimes upwards of ten times in order for them to embed. The embedded links tend to disappear after a little while, rendering a big blank space. I think that's why you are starting to see a lot of screenshots of x posts now

Part of me thinks it's Dennis Allen because we wanted him last time and we are quickly checking off the box of minority interviews. Although Graham seems very qualified.

He's already dealing with an "Assistant Head Coach" in Simmons, just like Marvin had to with Ketchup Whisperer.

and the Old Man, if I recall?  That's great if you're hiring a lawyer but counts for nothing in pro football.  If anything it's a detriment, I've seen enough of coordinators trying to play chess in a boxing ring.
