I'm not much of a country music fan but my buddy plays the banjo in this band so I'll share. If you like that kind of music this might be up your alley.

Not a fan of radio country but I do like some of this folksy bluegrass/roots stuff. Big fan of Tyler Childers. Sturgill, that sort of thing.

Both a couple of Kentucky hillbillies, dues paid in full & then some. Takes as much from bluegrass & protest/folk music as C&W. Lately more honkytonk/blues in Sturgill's case. His cover of Nirvana's "In Bloom" is pretty good, too.

Well now there's a "teleporter" for me... these guys are from the town where I went to high school, I've heard this tune (and all their tunes) countless times, and I wasn't even a fan. I think they were a potentially unique band in that they were extremely popular locally in the city - heavily followed, beloved and attended, for years - before they ever blew up nationally in Canada, let alone globally. Maybe that's a little more common down there in the US.

They probably reached their "exposure" zenith when Dan Aykroyd brought them on SNL when he hosted:

Anyway I'm metal/death metal guy so probably not the most enjoyable stuff for people here. My kids are into "the rap" though, so I can share what's in here with them and see what they think. 😅

Sleep's Holy Mountain is a classic. Matt Pike's a badass. Often I'm looking for more like Sabbath's Planet Caravan vibe.. Yeah, kinda prog/psych bordering on ambient.

Anciients are touring through here this fall, I haven't really listened to them but I may have to hit up that one.

Blueprint is coming through soon. Might go see Cannibal Corpse in a few months, more local shows until then. The big venues calm down when it's still 100f as the show lets out.

yeah methodman doesnt wanna do it unless he gets a huge cut, he is the draw, they do definitely take turns on stage, raekwon isnt looking great, ghostface also not in super good health. methodman looks 30 and jacked, inspectah deck also in great health.
