Perfectly said by Dehner ..

He showed signs of making a leap

Definite approval..

I hate 1 year deals as well.

If he plays well he will leave.

If he plays bad we overpaid.

1 year deals are always a lose-lose.

Or he plays well enough but a rookie ends up ahead of him on the depth chart before the season's over.  That's a win.  I'd settle for "ok in a rotation" where he's not Hendrickson but not a liability either.

Starter?

yeah, he's not a starter. He was brought in to be a teams guy. ADG was our special teams captain last year and he's the replacement. We'll need a starting LB to replace Pratt. Greenlaw got 3/36 from the Broncos today and we weren't going to go near that.

He's a starter. In the same way Drew Sample is. In our 4-3, that is not our most common Defense.

Great point

Effective tackle and coverage is better then Pratt.

Don't expect blitzes/sacks from him.

Good addition in their LB corps..

I have to say that our beloved team has made some very good critical moves thus far.

They've covered most positions before the f draft and more FAs lol kept to be signed

I think Trey now knows that teams aren't trading high draft choices plus his salary to commit to him.

I'd offer 3 yrs 27.5 per  ,..

His agent would be smart enough to bite .

He's at the point where he and the Bengals could agree on this ..

I don't think it could happen soon..

But that possibility is what the 7th round pick or the peck of UDFA’s are for!

Do we really care about the 7th Rd pick making any kind of substantial impact on the goal this season?

Unequivocally ..Fuck No..

Acquire another IOL.

Acquire another rush rusher regardless of position.

Do this and the run for it all is more than possible

Small fish compared to Tee and others

I don't think it is. The guy we had before him was a disaster. I knew he was not going to be any good, and the guy probably cost us a game or two with his worst in league punting. He was touted for inside 20 and hangtime, but when compared to NFL players he was still bottom of the league for what he was actually good at. So glad he's gone.

Hahaha, that was my thought too

He might start by default or something but he's certainly not a first choice starter. That's why he's only getting 2.5 mil, which is backup money. Let's hope Golden brings out the best in him but I doubt the Bengals are counting on him for more than special teams snaps.

Yeah, this seems like a nostalgia signing. That was 4 years ago.

Bengals have enough holes that there will certainly be players on the board in round 7 who could make the Bengals roster. Most years some UDFAs make it too.

A guy we picked up off the street after Hill and Turner got hurt. He played down the stretch and was so-so.

I could see us drafting a CB they thought could be a CB1 in a year or two. CTB will be a free agent next year.

I've seen a few early mocks where Will Johnson was still available...it would be hard to pass him up

If he falls past 16, it will be because he couldn't run a decent time at his workout. He's already said he won't be ready for the Michigan pro day. It's similar with Ben Morrison of Notre Dame. They both need to show they are healthy and can run to be drafted early.

What's that? A former top 10 pick is falling because of a lingering injury? That sounds like a future Bengal to me!
