Trey'd Hendrickson? I don't think so.

That's consistent with their entire history.

Saw a report that he wants $30M a year and no one in the market wants him for that. Could have signed the 3 years $95M contract the Bengals offered him last season that's north of his current asking price the free market is telling him he's not worth. He and his agent look pretty dumb.

It looks like our front office were not the cheapskates with Trey. I still don't get why they threw him an extra $10mill last year just to get him to fulfill a valid contract. I don't see what the Bengals gained by that

I think they gained pleasing Joe. Now they have to fix the D to please Joe.

Ouch. That 3Y $95M contract from last season is probably looking pretty good right about now lol.

This is exactly why the “tag and trade” argument was never as easy as some made it out to be. The crux of the issue is that anyone trading for Trey would have to agree to a deal before giving up compensation. Given that Trey hasn’t been able to get anyone to sign him as a free agent at the price he’s demanding, I’m not sure how the Bengals would also have been able to trade him for much unless he lowers his demand. Easier said than done.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Sorry, No Do-Overs. He is screwed now. Lol He must lower his number and now teams will be offering even lower. Good luck.

Yeah, he might have to settle for making $20M for half a year's work, maybe even $15M. Totally screwed.

Yay…Bengals win! He may only be making more than Murphy and Stewart…but by golly they really showed him!

Point is the Bengals offered him a contract very much in line with his market value and is looking like higher than his market value when the argument around here (and with the national pundits) was they were nowhere near it. He and his agent made yet another misstep to add to the blunders they already made (signing an extension one year too early and then begging for a new contract when the CBA rules wouldn't even allow for it). He should have dumped his agent years ago.

It is crystal clear that the tag and trade was never going to work because of what his side wanted. Teams weren't willing to pay that much for him and they knew the Bengals wouldn't / couldn't keep him. That 3 year deal at $95M was a good deal for him and he turned it down. Him and his agent definitely fucked up.

He's going to "luck out" and end up in Baltimore though. Will be interesting to see if they pay him now that they backed out of the Crosby deal and lost all of their other FAs.

Wonder if the Bengals will throw their hat in on Maxx? Raiders know they’ll get less in a trade now. Supposedly the Cowboys offered a one and a two before, and Jerry loves the spotlight. Maybe they’ll go back in.

Speaking of Dallas, people seem to think that between Rashan Gary, Quinnen Williams, renegotiating Kenny Clark’s deal… that DT Osa Odigizuwha might be available. He’s not a great tun stopper but as far as bringing heat from the interior DL, he fits. High character kid, young, has a reasonable deal. They could likely get him for a day 2 pick if he’s on the block. I’d definitely give it strong consideration.

Well it's official.

Trey has signed with the Ravens

4 years $112M. I bet only 2 years are guaranteed and he doesn't see the balance of the 4 years.

If it actually is 2 years guaranteed at $60M+ then that's a great deal for Trey.

$60M even guaranteed

Right. I’m not at all surprised. I’m sure DeCosta doesn’t care but the optics are bad on this whole deal. Of course, Crosby wasn’t gonna pass a physical now. He had meniscus surgery that supposedly was fairly extensive… an eight month rehab.

Ravens were within their rights to call off the deal and they’ve done it before, but c’mon. They knew he had surgery, and was rehabbing; everyone did. Easy to see that they gauged the market, saw Trey was available for cheap, saw the chance to get the 2 number 1s back, and pulled the trigger. Easy peasy.

But DeCosta left a huge wake in doing it, and affected other teams that have already committed to other players… for example, maybe Dallas wouldn’t have traded for Rashan Gary. Maybe the Raiders would have made different decisions… hell, the Ravens have lost a bunch of good players to other teams himself, some of who he may have been able to keep.

Trey was a great player in Cincinnati. I wish him well but he’s had injury issues too, including chronic back stuff… and he’s no Crosby when it comes to overall play.

Bottom line, I hope the whole thing blows up in DeCosta’s face. I’m sure he thinks he’s a really smart guy right now. Time will tell. It would be the most delicious irony if the Bengals grabbed Crosby and he balled out.

Whew… Ok, I’m good now. Just woke up!
