Good signing. He poses matchup problems as a slot receiver. I guessed his market value as 7-8 mil so this is in that range. Now get the big 3 done so we can get started on adding talent to the roster.

Wouldn't stop me from taking a TE at 17 if that's arguably BPA.

Gesicki is cool and all but I like TE's that aren't afraid to block. Yoshi is more willing than this guy. He's soft and soft is contagious, but he does get open so I guess that's OK. Just a slot WR that sometimes plays out of a 3 pt stance inside. Why call him a TE at all? Why isn't Sample a FB?

So yeah I'd still take a real TE that doesn't have hamburger knees.

Tight end Mike Gesicki will not hit the open market.

According to multiple reports, Gesicki has agreed to a three-year deal to stay with the Bengals.

The initial reports indicate the contract is worth $25.5 million.

Gesicki is No. 81 on PFT’s list of the top 100 free agents in 2025.

Gesicki, 29, signed a one-year deal with Cincinnati last offseason. He ended up being a key piece of the team’s offense, catching 65 passes for 665 yards with two touchdowns.

Appearing in all 17 games, Gesicki was on the field for 46 percent of the team’s offensive snaps.

A Dolphins second-round pick in 2018, Gesicki has played 115 games with 44 starts for Miami, New England, and Cincinnati. He has only missed one regular-season game in his career, which occurred in 2020.

He has 325 career receptions for 3,526 yards with 22 TDs.

12 million in the first year

Sigh. The team still hasn't learned its lesson. That's a terrible structure. It seems designed to maximize the cap hit and minimize expectations for outside additions.

We are lucky he isn't listed as a WR, as then he would be 15 million per year.

I view him as WR3 though, and one of the best in that role.

This is 100% correct.

He's slot receiver  that happens to be 6'6" ..

His frame tells you is inability to be a good blocker but he's a dangerous weapon in the slot.

No no...

His 3 yr deal is ranked 15th among TEs yet he's a slot and his value at that price is worthy.

I'm fine with bringing back Gesicki for 3 years for 25.5 mil. But paying half the contract total in year 1 is questionable. You want to backload it at least as much as the cap increases annually and set it so there is a cap gain at least by year 3 if he's released before the end of the deal.

Incredible .

His abilities only make our offense more dangerous.

Add his height and length and you have another dangerous weapon for JB to

dissect defenses as only he can
