Not going to judge him on sacks.

Played inside alot but does need refinement on

hand usage but overall is a Great replacement for Hubbard.

Can pressure like Hubbs couldnt last two yrs.

I'm not overjoyed but he does add another event to our pass rush/run stoppage rate on the Left side.

Here's hoping our Dline coach can elevate his techniques and be one a formidable duo with Trey..

His production was awful I hope he works out

He's 21 yrs old..

He had and ng skills lls that need refined.

He's d finitely an athletic DE that could be a very solid counterpart to Trey.

I'm good with it..

Right now I see it very plausible that the bengals have a 4 man front on passing downs that looks like this:

LE - Ossai

LDT - Stewart

RDT - Murphy

RE - Hendrickson

I'm not thrilled with Ossai as a run stopper, but as a rusher I think he's on the way up. Other than that, our two interior DEs are very strong run defenders, so it's not a liability to have them inside on passing downs...

But imagine the games and stunts these guys can run.

I'm not sold.   I guy who does everything except make the tackle.   Not seeing that as a real asset.

Cedric Ogbuehi 2.0

They like all the measurements and the unmeasureables  and the guy just didn't produce.

Same thing they said about Cedric.   "Don't let those 8 sacks his senior year fool you"....they didn't fool me he produced in the pros just like he did in college....

So...Nolen was essentially sniped right before their pick, wonder if that is who they were banking on and had to pivot

4.5 but close enough. lol

Not sure I can get too exctied about a guy with 1.5 sacks and who is a bad tackler.

I don't think so.

I think the very thing they are extolling about Stewart, that is what they want in their locker room, which is relentlessness and attitude, were the big knocks or at least question marks about Nolen.

Dane Brugler of The Athletic had Stewart ranked as the #9 overall ranked prospect. Here is his writeup on Stewart:

A one-year starter at Texas A&M, Stewart lined up primarily as an edge rusher in head coach Mike Elko’s four-man front, also spending time head-up over the tackle and inside over the B-gap. He is the type of prospect who will test the “traits over production” slogan that NFL teams subscribe to, as he never had more than 1.5 sacks in any of his three seasons in College Station. However, his tape shows a far more disruptive player — he led the Aggies in pressures (39) in 2024.

Stewart explodes out of his stance and is capable of creating immediate knockback or winning high-side with upfield burst/flexibility. His counter measures require maintenance, although he finds a lot of success based on his initial swipe or long-arm move. The No. 1 area in which he needs to improve is as a finisher. He has the athleticism to get to the ball but has no business missing as many tackles as he does, especially given his power and movements. Overall, Stewart needs to mature his rush efficiency and finishing skills, but he has a rare combination of talent and motor to be a game-wrecker against both the pass and the run. His best football is ahead of him.
