Floor is he brings to the team the incredible disruption he's already shown at A&M playing inside the tackle. Ceiling is he shows what he did at the Senior Bowl, and we get an elite DE who can exploit his Myles Garret level athleticism from that spot. But the floor offers us the thing we've been most sorely lacking since Geno left, which is disruption from inside. Report

April 25, 20251 yr Author comment_1793461 I said awhile back that the Bengals have a type when it comes to drafting a DE. You must be 6'5, 270 lbs, 34" long arms, and run a 4.6 40. Mykel Williams was this and the only other guy who was = Stewart. With Mykel gone, that left Stewart as the pick. It's as simple as that. Report

I don't know what he weighed at the senior bowl, where he dominated, but would be curious to know. given the Sr Bowl and Combine weren’t too far apart (a month), I’d imagine he was closer to the 270 range. April 25, 20251 yr Author comment_1793473 The Bengals don't like doubles in Rd 1. This is either going to be a home run genius selection, or a bust. But I can at least respect swinging for the fences. If he had any sack production he's likely a top 3 pick. So the Bengals either got a mega steal or got fooled by traits again. Report

April 25, 20251 yr comment_1793477 I really wish I could share the enthusiasm that many are feeling. All I see is a guy who looks good with his shirt off that only managed 1.5 sacks per year in college, while often playing inferior teams. Doesn’t this sound too familiar? Physical freak, rare attributes, puzzling lack of production…don’t worry the Bengals will coach them up. Yikes. I hope the people showing excitement are correct. The Bengals really couldn’t afford to miss this year. I will say that I’m very happy they addressed the defensive line. Not trying to shit on this pick but concerning would be my initial reaction.
