It is hysterical to read some other media sites’ comments sections. They are already pissing on picks #1 and #2 for “holding out” and “missing valuable OTA training time”.

How are they trying to “nickel and dime” him? He’s absolutely gonna get his bag, it’s just gonna be structured the way the Bengals want it, not the way his agent wants it. I guarantee it gets done before it matters, so who cares?

They tried to sign him to his rookie deal with a smaller TC roster bonus % on his contract that the 16th player last year got. That's embarrassing for the team. First round picks get guaranteed contracts so the team owes him the same amount of money over 4 years. But they want to pay more over the course of the games in 2028 with a smaller roster bonus for training camp. That's what a team would do if they expect a holdout in year 4.

They obviously haven't been in any other negotiations since the draft, ie: Hendrickson, so what other than them just being f'n stupid would hold up slotted contracts!?  I'm seriously hanging on by a thread as a fan and I'm sure they don't care which only makes that thread thinner.  Fuck the Brown family!

Stewart is on the approach landing coordinates to being labeled "malcontent". Have already seen "holdout" and "missing too much time". 

 

Go back and look at the donnybrooks with first-rounders way back when. They were undisciplined/out of shape/greedy pariahs before they ever took a snap.

Yes, and Conway reported the same. He may be getting it from her report or directly from the agent. You seem to be unaware of this but the union likes maximum transparency for player pay and benefits. The sites that track player contracts get their data from the NFLPA. The NFL management council has the same information of course but doesn't publish it. In this case the Bengals got exposed as trying to reduce the % of 4th year guaranteed money paid in training camp in 2028 compared to the 17th player picked last year. 

 

The CBA only requires teams to offer a drafted player the rookie minimum but normal teams look at the contract for the players picked just ahead and behind their guy if another team has signed those players or look at last year's slot if they haven't, and adjust by the % the cap increased year over year. But not our Bengals, at least with Stewart. This year a couple of 2nd rounders got fully guaranteed contracts ala first rounders. Don't hold your breath for the Bengals to follow that example. Also ask yourself why the team cares about the payment schedule in 2028 for Stewart's already guaranteed money. Seems like they are worried about a holdout. The 30 day notice to Trey was unnecessary but a 4 year notice takes the cake.

Throwing out insults doesn't make the information false. If it were actually untrue, ie Stewart's agent is lying, it would easy to show that. The 17th player picked last year was Dallas Turner and his contract is on file with the union for inspection by lots of folks. You'll notice the Bengals aren't disputing Conway's article. That's probably the wise move.

 

But your embrace of imaginary nonsense, whether it being Conway is a hooker or the Bengals aren't trying to nickel and dime their players, is a bit pathetic. We cheer for a poorly run team and hope the players can overcome the lack of front office support. Wouldn't it make more sense for you to support the people with the team who are good at their jobs like Hendrickson and Burrow rather than the ones who are poor at it like Duke and Katie?

Not sure but apparently he tweeted that he practiced on Monday.  So he must have signed the waiver because nothing has been reported about his rookie contract.  It could be drawn out because 2nd round picks are starting to get fully guaranteed contracts, as the 33rd and 34th picks received this year.
