Wilson was just benched for the first round pick, Jaxson Dart. The Bengals would only have to pay Russ $2mill for the season, after he signed a 1 year 10.5 million dollar deal. That is a steal for a starting QB with a SB win on his resume andr can still play at a high level.

In week 2 Russ threw for 450 yards and 3 TD's, something Browning has never done in a game. With the playmakers we have on offense Russ could play at a higher level than Browning is capable of playing.

Russ is a Cincinnati native, born at Christ Hospital, and is a great guy off the field. He would be a fit for the city, team culture, and help the Bengals win some damn games...make it happen Pumpkin, Duke, Troy, or whoever is calling the shots at PBS.

I would prefer 🦀 Winston if we are trading the Giants for a QB.

You can't just ride with Browning, he's clearly in over his head. That's a ride to Loserville.

Looking at the schedule I don't see the Bengals being favored in any games of the remaining games on the schedule. Maybe Miami, but they have a better QB.

Browning isn't a starting QB in the NFL. Never has been, never will be. He's an average back up at best.

Both Winston and Wilson are clear upgrades over Browning. They need to upgrade the talent level at QB if they want to win another game this year.

Browning just QBed the Bengals to the worst loss in franchise history, that should lite a fire under the FO to make a move...if they care about WINNING.

Why, he's a great hang and sound bite but Wilson is and has always been the better player

Both those dudes are washed. Y'all wanna throw good money after bad.

We ride or die with Jake here.

I get why the NYG are going with Dart… might as well pull the ripcord and go for it. He's a talented kid who will likely get better with experience, and they know what they have with Russ. Yeah, they almost won a game with Russ and he threw some really nice passes, but Dallas’ D makes the Bengals’ look like they’re good. So that tells you something.

Personally, I’d prefer Cousins vs. Wilson, but I think the Bengals are fine with Jake. He’s usually accurate, has won games as a starter and he's led some 4Q comebacks. Guys seems to respect/respond to him.

My issue with him thus far is his situational awareness… putting the ball in harm’s way in plus territory. Especially with this OL and isht run game, he’s gotta be smarter with the football so they can come away with points. Some of his throws down there have been reckless… just can’t do that. Some real “WTF are you thinking?”, head scratcher throws.

Russ didn't look washed in week 2 when he threw for 450 and 3 tuddies...if that's washed then what is Browning.

Alls I'm saying is this version of Jake Browning won't win a game in the NFL.

Cousins contract makes him a no go, he's making like 40 mil or something like that, so no chance. Russ would only be 2 million dollars cap hit...it makes sense.

I agree that Jake is too turnover prone, his INT % is 8.5, so he's throwing a pick on 8.5% of this attempts.

Any percentage above 2 is below average, anything above 3% is bad. Jake's is 8.5%, that's awful. It shows he has poor decision making and accuracy, simply put he's in over his head.

Lastly, do you honestly think the other players believe he's good enough to win..I wouldn't. When they play the Ravens, Bills, Stealers, etc..teams with MVP QBs, Pro Bowlers, All Pros and we've got the 2013 & 2014 Gatorade High School Player of the year. This guy is living off his high school stats like Al Bundy's 4 TD game at Polk High.

According to Jay Glazer on the Fox pregame show on Sunday, no one has reached out to Atlanta to ask for a trade for Kirk Cousins.

No - I don’t think he’s good enough to engineer wins against top teams. But I do think he’s good enough to beat bad teams, and at least be competitive with fair to good teams.

He did that the year he went 4-3, which included a 4th quarter comeback by a good KC team. That is, with a less talented team on O, and a team with a trash D… and while this D isn’t good, they aren’t that bad (so far).

That’s all I’m looking for from him.

Hard no on Wilson. He's an odd duck. A skilled QB, but not a guy to rally around. I could care less about the Cincinnati connection. A guy that talented has bumped around from team to team for a reason.

Without a viable run game, it doesn't matter WHO we put in at QB. The other team will just tee off and rush the QB every down, knowing that they don't have to worry about defending the run.

Agree..

Getting the run game going is key.

But how????

That depends on how the Mr Wizard of Offense wishes to feature. PFF be damned..you plan for LG to clear X-defender..LT to seal Y gap…RB chooses first cleared lane.

More to it than that, of course…but basic running football is schematic. It is repetitious.

Capable of putting up the same numbers against this year's Dallas Cowboys. 😆

I know there's the whole thing of them preferring pass blockers, but I'm crusty about it & think if they can't run block then they probably can't block very well, period. Pass pro lets them hide their deficiencies with technique but they're still losing leverage and getting tossed aside too often. "Better" doesn't necessarily mean "good" if they're terrible at the other thing.

Also suspect they are doing too much with the patty-cake zone blocking but run or pass, you either control the line of scrimmage or you don't. Usually they do not.

wilson fucking sucks.

he also threw under 50% and 168 yards in week 1 vs the commanders.

week 2 he played the cowboys.. the cowboys fucking suck. they gave up 31 points to the bears. the bears suck.

wilson has sucked for 20 years.. his entire career is have a great defense and chuck the ball blindly down field..

he is a joke. we would never win another game.

Thank fucking you. I can’t believe some of you think he is a viable option. He fucking sucks without an excellent oline and defense, something we DONT HAVE.

Did you guys watch his last game? He literally threw up a 50/50 rainbow into the end zone on first down and mid game. In no world is that a play a veteran makes. Ever.

He literally reminds me of Tim Tebow’s last game as a QB. Last pre-season game while on the Patriots. He was HORRIBLE. Cut.

Agree dont like Wilson eithet

a veteran with the entire offseason in the offense and scheme should never be as bad as russell wilson is..

the broncos paid him a catrillion dollars to just go away..

Last thing we need is Russel Wilson creeping around the locker room afterhours with the lights out, smelling people's socks.
