September 28Sep 28 comment_1805918 I mean at this point if I'm running this team I have Perine, Yoshi, and Tee taking snaps in practice. So Wilson, Winston, Dalton, Dan from the Kroger distribution warehouse. Mike White from the P squad. We definitely need to do something. No one is foreseeing Browning starting and playing the remaining 14 games. We are one stubbed pinky finger away from seeing what the Rypien kid can do. One pinky and one tweaked ankle from no QB at all. 14 games to go boys. Report

Fact is without an MVP at quarterback this current team is pretty average - and that may be generous. We're not getting another MVP QB any time soon. Report

But I do think he’s good enough to beat bad teams, and at least be competitive with fair to good teams. He did that the year he went 4-3, which included a 4th quarter comeback by a good KC team. That is, with a less talented team on O, and a team with a trash D… and while this D isn’t good, they aren’t that bad (so far). That’s all I’m looking for from him.His recent game tape tells a different story, the world has changed a lot since 2023, I think Browning's skill set has too. Minnesota is a bad team, they have a backup like us and we got beat like we stole something with Browning at the helm. The only way we see Burrow before the 2026 OTAs is if the Bengals can somehow compete, that is impossible with Browning at QB. Browning might be a great guy, but he's not a good QB Report

Browning might be a great guy, but he's not a good QBSure - they got their asses kicked. It was ugly… and he wasn’t good… no one was. The game went south in a hurry late in the 2Q. But I think it’s too early to say he’s done. Even though he made some isht decisions in the Jax game too, he did make some big throws, and he led them 90 plus yards at the end of the game. Clearly he needs to be less reckless with the ball. I’ve said that. And I never said he was a good QB… but I think he’s average and against bad teams, that should be enough to win… and be competitive with better teams. Agree if things go south, JB needs to sit the season out. But after 3 games I’m not ready to throw in the towel, and even if they lose the next 3, it’s a long season and lots of stuff can happen… injuries to them and other opponents, etc.. Let’s see what happens. At least, that’s what I’m willing to do. Report

This base is just another oneWell other teams have seen their backups and even rookies come in and either win games or at least put up a fight. Last night a team some expected to make a playoff run was completely dominated in every facet of the game. And Browning has been here 3 years, not 3 months. From the penalties to watching the defense give up 10 yards 50 times to the same wide receiver screen to the left side, they were completely out coached and outplayed. It looked like a pre season game in the 4th quarter. The 49ers won a game with Mac Jones and looked ok doing it. Daniel Jones looks like an MVP candidate. It is getting very close to full rebuild time. Unfortunately, that won’t happen. That would include getting rid of Hendrickson soon, Taylor, Tobin (one can dream) and Burrow. Let the new coach bring in a QB and rebuild on his rookie contract. Burrow is too fragile to play in Cincy. Report
