Burrows injury would be hard for any coach to overcome, but it looks like Joe was carrying Zac all these years.

Game plan, play design, play calling, team preparedness. All that is on Zac and absolute crap in 2025.

I don't believe our drafting can be evaluated untl the above is fixed.

chicken & egg problem really.. cant run an offense with crap on the OL, OLs look like crap with a pass-happy zone blocking scheme & a coach that often can't get the plays in on time but insists on calling them for every down

They went all in with Joe. Joe went down so you just want the team to show signs of picking back up when he returns. Instead, the team looks super unprepared and awful.

If you can't make an offense with Chase, Tee, Brown, Gesicki, Fant more productive, that's on you. Time to go, Zac.

I'm for a midseason coaching change if theres someone on staff who will experiment and develop guys, just to see what the team has to work with next season. If not, just let Zac finish the season.

It's ok for us to give up when Joe gets hurt (yet again). It's not OK for them to play like it.

What adds a different element is the fact that Zac is such a players coach and a decent guy personally ... So I can't see the players outright having a mutiny against him -- but it's clear that they simply can't perform well enough to save his job based on the positions he's putting them in.

I just don't know how the offense looks so bad. I expected the defense to be bad, but Chase with 23 yards? Tee 25? Brown with negative yards against Minnesota?

Not acceptable.

Anyone sniffing at Tobin to be fired, warranted or not, is on a drug.

Zac will be gone, depending on the next HC things will get better or rinse and repeat.

Losing will cause crash outs. Nice guy coach speak only goes so far.

This.

Joe carried this team to a SB (and AFC-CG the next year) when they had no business being there. I know most if not all the teams in the NFL would go into a slump when their starting QB goes down but Jesus, the last 2 games have been ugly. And back to back delay of game? That's coaching.

This is funny but would have been better if he was wearing a Shula's Steakhouse hat. (sorry, nitpicky I know). 😁

Goodberry forgot to mention that you wont be given the funds to pay for good coaches so you will have crappy coaches to help scout.

Basic Facts:

  1. Jake Browning has been here 3 years, not 3 months. He should be able to step in and provide “serviceable” QB play. He doesn’t. Read on.

  2. You can’t keep sending your 2 best weapons on long slow developing routes when your backup is in and your oline is suspect. That’s on Zac.

  3. The backup QB didn’t cause 11 penalties. It’s week 4. That’s on Zac.

  4. You can’t throw low probability long out routes and 3rd and 2 unless you already decided to go for it on 4th and 2. You need 2 FUCKING yards. Move the chains. That’s on Zac.

  5. I hate to say this but we are close to a full rebuild. Our star QB will have played in less games than Tua who was drafted the same year. Keep in mind Tua wasn’t the starter until game 7 his rookie year, Fitz was.

  6. On any of the other 31 teams Zac and Tobin would be gone. There is no excuse for what we have seen the last 2 weeks with a HC in his 7th year. New England fired Belichick after 4 meh seasons. Zac doesn’t have near the equity. 3 seasons without a playoff appearance? Time to go.

  7. Other good teams are able to tread water with backups, Zac can not function without Burrow. Not at all.

  8. It may be time to draft a new QB. Burrow isn’t available enough and is brittle. Plenty of other QBs get sacked without season ending injuries. Of the 10 QBs with the most sacks last year, 9 played 17 games. It’s a great QB class, get a sturdy one and move on with a new coaching staff, GM (lol) and all the picks Burrow and Hendrickson would bring.
