Now--since they cannot breathe on receivers once they leave the scrimmage line (OK..."within 5 yards" like that matters)--they can only run around with them for so long before someone gets open. Most WR's know how to beat that coverage & a lot of them will even take advantage of it. Still a few that can be jammed, though. Report

Some have, as you said, mastered the grab/pull inside of the 5 yards—but they do so by sorta using their body to mask the grabs from the official. No one actually hits anyone at the line anymore…that would immediately get a flag. And downfield…the best “cover guys” routinely time their grab/pull to when the receiver breaks. The “lesser” ones just keep grabbing…and you-know-what happens Report

And if you try and whiff it’s six points if your QB is good. It’s a tough gig and the good ones deserve their pay. Report

The “lesser” ones just keep grabbing…and you-know-what happensHines Ward got 2 rings and almost certainly the HoF behind tangling up DB's & taking them to the ground. He'd drag someone across the goal line by the facemask and still get the flag. There was a span there where any downfield contact had a good chance of drawing the PI back when it was all spot-of, now without a clean pass in the air it's often a holding call..No one could weaponize the rule book, bait the other team & cry-bully quite like those Stealers teams.😿 AHHH THE BURFICS!! SAVE US DADDY ROGER!! PAPA GOODELL SAVE US!!1 😿fts and fuck shazier in particular.. very similar injury to David Pollack - not much sympathy for someone spearing but Pollack didn't make a career out of that shit. Can't play for Pittsburgh if you're not out for blood. Report

I'm sure All in The Family loves it, especially meathead. there's always the one guy with an undiagnosed rare cardio thing, I wouldn't trust a first round pick that skipped it, but otherwise it's kind of useless. This dude can play, he looks like a game-wrecker. He's finding the weak point of however they're trying to block him and, in technical terms, "fucking shit up".. He's got a toolkit of moves and he's sudden with them. Very impressed by the few times he lays off the big hit on the QB or avoids taking him to the ground, that's savvy. Get him into a rotation with a good vet (like the one they're trying to trade) and coaches that will let him hunt..If they can trade down & get him, even better but talking themselves out of it over his "measurables" would be a mistake. Let's match him up against OBjr's 35" arms and see who wins best out of 10. He's getting into the body of longer OL here & unseating them with leverage, balance, quickness.. 🤷♂️ How many MF'ers did Tyson knock out? It doesn't seem to be stopping this kid any but if you see big holes in his game point 'em out: Report

Different offenses anymore—especially with sets/motions/etc. I guess I just wax nostalgically for the days when a Mel Blount/Lester Hayes/even Lamar Parrish…would knock a receiver on their backsides before they could get two steps forward.
