The All-New/Does It Make A Blasted Bit Of Difference 2026 Draft Thread

Not saying you are off-base…but unless he comes aboard with a twin…wouldn’t expect much impact

Oh for sure one guy isn't going to make such an impact that things are completely different. However when you're drafting at the top (right now we hold the 10th pick) rather than the bottm of the draft you have a higher chance at getting guys that can make an impact sooner rather than waiting 3 years on Miles Murphy to finally look like a good football player. I agree though, we need to be doing more in FA to cover these holes while the young guys learn. Starting so many young players on D was really apparent that they were struggling. Hopefully they all continue to step up next year, but we should be adding some vets to the D to help imo

Vets like Geno Stone or Sheldon Rankins? This team could use a Dhani Jones or two. Even a Kaesviharn.

No disagreement. They need someone who can line everyone up and teach the young guys to do that too, a Josh Bynes type. Our big issue is when Bates left, Logan took over he clearly wasnt a guy who took on the role of teaching how to get guys lined up

Definitely need a defensive leader

Wasn't he? Knight sure seemed to take a step back when Wilson got benched. He was voted a Team Captain. That doesn't sound like a lack of leadership. Maybe he wasn't "buying in" enough for Golden.. Then all of a sudden Logan sucks and is an "asshole" to boot (according to some)? Yeah, ok.

Overall I think they were trying to avoid starting a bunch of rookies but what they had wasn't getting it done, then JB went out.. Like they wanted to turn over the roster but also make a playoff run at the same time, & have effectively done neither. We were talking about a rebuild in the preseason, though no one wants to call it that. Now a bunch of vets that were ass for the entire season, if not longer, suddenly turn it on & we're to believe they're going to be awesome from now on. Most of them are going to turn it right back off in 3 weeks, knowing they've done just enough to get by, again.

It's not a scheme problem and it's not going to be fixed by adding this or that player. Cutting a few would be a start, DGAF if their replacement is effectively no better so long as they can act like a fucking pro. That's where it starts. Free agency, trades, draft board and everything else needs to reflect that one standard. Otherwise none of it will matter. WTF are the Cincinnati Bengals? Are they about football or is that more of a side hustle? Things need to happen on a scale I don't think they're comfortable with, at least not yet.

Being a captain doesn't mean you know how to teach young guys

I'd say it's indicative of more than that but I can't speak to his teaching abilities. They never seemed to have these problems in all his previous years while playing at a respectable level. I can believe he was slowing down, or was a "Lou guy", maybe didn't fit. This sorry-ass defense is in no way on Logan Wilson, though. Why don't we trade whoever drafted Stewart to Dallas instead?

I saw that and went minor ballistic.

I don't even remember Zac Moss he was such a scrub

and why would you, I or anyone else give a rat's ass WHAT

he thinks about the Bengals.

He probably called in his "report" when he was on break at

the Howdy Car Wash on Reading Road where its his job to

give a spritz of Poopperee to the interior at the end of the line.

I'll wait a few days for you to post how much you always liked Zac Moss and hope he figures it out real soon instead of responding.

First attempt and way too early to know anything about most of these guys.

Sarratt is a big kid. good athlete, made a lot of plays for Indiana.

Dennis-Sutton is a pass rushing DE. Like his game a lot. He’s very noticeable (In a good way) when you watched Penn St play.

TJ Staton isn't doubled much.
