I don't think anyone would care if it wasn't so symbolic of their general dysfunction. For a 10+ win and playoff-bound team it'd be people building snowmen & goodwill to all, easily overlooked nothing-burger. Earn the reputation as a discount second-rate franchise and there's no benefit of the doubt. They made their bed. Is it stupid and kind of petty? Yes, just like the owners.
