The franchise has never fired a head coach mid-season. They will not now.

Actually, mid-season firings for any NFL HC are rare.

All of the wailing and gnashing of teeth will go for naught. The ride will continue.

You should know better than that!

I remember it distinctly because I was on maternity leave so I got to watch his final press conference.

How on earth are the Lions only 10.5 point favorites? It was 8.5 before the Monday night game but that sure looks like easy money to give the 10.5.

Think the refs are instructed to slow games down and try to keep them watchable. Of course there's only so much they can do if you turn the ball over 6 times but I seem to notice they suddenly get flag-happy whenever there's a 2 score deficit.

Caught the Zac presser this afternoon. Some reporter asked about Charlie Joiner’s status for Sunday. As good as he was, I suspect he wouldn’t help vs. the Lions… although he’d be a more reliable choice than Burton is.

Zac was also asked about CTB, and whether his injury hindered him on Sunday (since he didn’t play a ton of snaps, after starting). Zac’s response (I’m paraphrasing) was that he had been injured and missed some practice time, but was healthy and they also have a rotation of other reliable players… which tells you how they feel about CTB’s play… and it ain’t good.

Wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see Josh Newton getting the start on Sunday. CTB just isn’t consistent enough. Had a good TC but he just looks like he’s in a funk out there at times. Courtland Sutton made him look silly early, so they pulled him. You’d think in a contract year he’d ball out but so far it’s more like the bad part of last year. He’s a talented kid but he’s gotta get his head out of his a$$.

Come on Sparky, let’s you and I put down $10,000 ($5k ea) on the Lions.

If we win, we can have a Tyrone Biggums style party and all of go-bengals is invited. For the out of towners, we can pay for their flights or car rental with the winnings before getting hookers and coca with the rest.

Hopefully people are hip to who Tyrone Biggums is.

Hint: He was a character in the best show, series on tv ever. No other show will ever come even close to that show in terms of pure comedic genius.

For context ~25% is far from "awful", according to ESPN that's good for top 10 DE territory, about tied with Parsons for example. They've got Trey at 19% but that's still top 20. I will assume single digits are bad, at least for a DE/OLB.

Interior, those types (Atkins, Reader) are rare - the average NFL DT is playing the run, eating blocks & setting the LOS, they aren't typically sack machines. The 3 DT's tied at #1 have a 19% win rate. More interested in RBWR for the inside.

I think whoever posted those numbers didn't really understand them, it's not A-F grading on a curve. Or is my math not mathing?

So CTB benched again.

We drafting a CB in 1 this offseason then?

more likely 2nd or even 3rd, if they do end up top 10 or so..  There might be a DB or two ranked that high but they'd be better off moving down for extra picks where they'd still have a top 5 prospect waiting.

Letting JB3 walk has been the defense's version of Whitworth.  This FO isn't capable of replacing a player of that caliber.

Spitballing here but I think Dax plays more like a safety.

Sometimes it seems like they don't have the stomach for the modern NFL, which is obviously seedy as hell & I wouldn't either, but they inherited that shit and the lifestyle that comes with it. They could sell the team and live comfortably for generations anyway, but not indefinitely. It's their golden goose. At other times they act like they're too good for it. At least to me, as a fan, reading press releases and weird interview faux pas that only give a glimpse at their mindset.

Either way.. It's probably a lot simpler to say they aren't very good at managing a pro football team. If it were a factory making widgets they'd get top marks, but it's a lot more complicated than that.

^ Rehkow would be team MVP at this point.

And our coach is afraid to make any personnel changes. We are fucked.
