2026 Draft Wishlist

Featured Replies

My top guy right now is Caleb Downs.

I'm only really watching OSU right now, so I don't know a lot about the rest of the eligible playes, but Downs would have an instant impact.

Yeah, he'd be a great addition. He's a top 10 player in this class but may fall down the board as safety isn't a premium position. Bengals shouldn't hesitate to pick him if he's available. It should be another defense heavy draft for the Bengals.

I think they should fix Linebacker and Safety in the draft, grab backup OL players that need to sit a year or so before being ready.

Just for kicks..., I used NFL Draft Buzz's Draft simulator - picking 9th:

1> Caleb Downs, S Ohio State

2> Sonny Styles, LB Ohio State (couldn't decide between Styles and CJ Allen of Georgia)

3> Germie Bernard, WR Alabama

4> Emmanuel McNeil Warren, S Toledo

6> Monroe Mills, OT Virginia

6> Pat Coogan, C/OG Indiana

7> Bear Alexander, DT Oregon

That gives a starting Safety duo of Downs and Battle while McNeil Warren works his way in as a possible starter / rotational piece in 27. Should be a great ST contributor until then. Then a linebacker crew of Styles or Allen leading Knight and Carter. Any of the top 3 MLB prospects would be a big help (Styles, Hill, Allen) and greatly improve things there.

Bernard is a bit of a luxury pick but would provide depth and put pressure on that group of Iosivas, Burton, Jones and Tinsley for that 3rd/4th receiver and returner role.

Mills probably needs a year or two before being in the mix to have a shot at replacing Brown but should be able to behind him at LT allowing Ford to focus on backup RT. I think they draft a tackle high in 27 or extend Brown to kick the can down the road if they can't.

Coogan is a replacement for Lucas Patrick providing a possible backup at guard and center while developing for a year or so. Maybe he could start out as a backup at RG. Could be a real scrum between Lee, McLaughlin and Coogan in 27/28 for the 2 center positions after Karras leaves.

Alexander was just too good to pass up at that spot. He probably won't be available there by the time the actual draft comes around. He's ranked that low right now because of the redshirt season he took to sit out on USC before transferring a 2nd time to Oregon. When reality comes around, probably need to use the 3rd pick to grab him instead of using it on a WR like I did above.
