Coaches always think they can bring out the talent in some guy who is underachieving. Failure with the Bengals coaching staff isn't a bar to future employment with other teams, though I'd guess Walters is respected around the league. It only costs $100 for a team to claim him for a look-see. He won't be radioactive until 2 or 3 teams have quickly moved on from him. Like the guy last year who was with Baltimore, Houston, and a couple other teams. He at least had been productive in the past.

I wouldn't want a coach that didn't think so, but that means they shouldn't be the ones making draft picks. Even Zimmer blew a 2nd round pick on Margus Hunt. There's a reason no other team does it this way but the Bengals know better. One day everyone will see they were right about everything all along, or whatever.

Considering what they put up with from Adam Jones and Vontaze Burfict,

this kid must be/have been a real piece of work.

I'm not hating on him, I feel sorry for him.

He was just an nasty and vicious player on the field.

and that's why a lot of us loved Burfict. Plus he hated the Stealers every bit as much as us.

Odell Thurman was more of the outside of football issues guy (can’t recall if he had red flags prior to the draft).

IIRC he was pretty quiet and unassuming off the field.
