so tied records, the tie breaker is strength of schedule.. the team with the LOWER strength of schedule wins, as they had the poor record facing worse opponents, thus are a worse team.

so we can no longer be 15th or 16th, i dont think we can be 14th anymore with dallas having a tie?

we they lose out and we win out, they ate 7-9-1, we are 7-10 if we win out.. so they are above us right?

so 13th is worst position we can land..

if we lose one or tampa wins one, we cannot be 13th

for 12th, atlanta plays the rams and the saints.. if they go 1-1 and we go 2-0, they pass us, they have to win out also for us to tay ahead of them, or us lose a game.

Miami, does the H2H matter? if its a 3+ way tie i dont think it does.. so SOS is king, theirs is the lowest though, so same for them, they play tampa and new england.. theyll lose out,, they will pass us.

the SOS data is based on the current record of teams for their entire schedule, so playing a bad or good team wont move the need much week to week, but if a team wins out or loses out out of character, it would change some... like if all 14 teams the cheifs play all lose this week theyd plummet, but most teams are going to offsets and wont change OS ranking much.

so in the last 7 drafts the highest safety pick is Hamilton at #14.... that brings hope for Downs to drop to us.... Downs being compared to Ed Reed.

not a single other safety taken in the top 20 in that timeframe... unless i missed someone...

I wanted to go back and find a Safety ick that is ahad of our likely pick range... it didnt take long, the 2018 draft, Mincah Fitzpatrick was taken 11th by Miami.

in the same draft, Darwin James was taken 17th and the steelers took safety, Edmunds, taken 28th.

so 3 first round safeties..

2017-- jamal adams was taken 6th overall...

hooker taken 15th,

peppers taken 25th

2 bad safeties taken first round in the 2016 draft in the first round.. first one was 16th.

seems safety high in the first has fallen off lately.. but was very common 6-8 years ago..

“Tanking” is not allowed by the NFL.

Saying that, they wink at franchises with sellable market value. No, not sell-the-team market value…but TV market value.

KC could lose for 2-3 more years, and not diminish in “fan” support—they have been too familiar to the eyeballs for a long time. If Andy Reid—who is as untouchable to a hot seat as a HC can be—wishes to “see what he has” by emptying his practice squad onto the field (with the blessing and “guideance” of his FO), then he will. They will be getting the TV eyeballs next year anyway.

The Raiders—although a historically NFL-favored franchise—are simply shit. Carroll is on a lot shakier ground, so one should not expect a deliberate lie-down.

The result of analytics. Getting early pressure on a QB is far more important than having a great safety. QB efficiency drops off significantly when under duress.
