Overwhelmingly, if a team wants to sign a player, he'll sign provided they offer him the most money. Bengals will have at least 80 mil in cap space to spend this offseason. They'll extend some of the current bottom of the roster guys but unless they tag Hendrickson, they'll be able to afford a bunch of new defensive starters. And not the dregs either.

Im not sure mendoza is an NFL caliber QB. he is one of those guys that like, maybe he can do real QB stuff.. but pop on the first highlight video on youtube of his..

its: snap, play action, step and hit first read which is a wide open receiver. in the first 10+ highlights he didnt make a single read, his first option is just wide open.. i actually havent even seen him look off a single route yet...

he also seems like an assclown, but who doesnt these days.

strong dalton vibes too with the short passes hive teammats run for amazing touchdowns.. but thats how it be sometimes..

great success, but im not sure a ton of it is based on him have exceptional skills or traits. will be fun to see...

Far as the crapshoot trying to draft a franchise QB.. Think there are always a few like Mayfield floating around that maybe didn't get a fair shake where they were drafted, didn't have the coaching or the team ran out of patience.. But plenty good enough to go all the way for a balanced team. Enough less-than-stellar QB's have rings. Our own Browning is another example, looked good in some games, awful in others - maybe a pretty good QB in there if he were able to work as a starter through a camp. Stealers are a good example of a team that might benefit from a FA QB derby. Seems less common these days but without a top 10 pick that's what most are going to be stuck with whether they recognize it or not.

He's probably getting a boatload of money through NIL. Probably not as much as he would get as a top pick in the draft, but quite a bit nevertheless.

Question is, who can or might come out next year at QB? Arch Manning comes to mind, if he qualifies. And who knows who may explode on the scene at QB next year. Might that drop his position next year since more talent may be coming out? I will admit, I don't follow college football that much so I am no expert in college player personnel.
