Yeah, Collinsworth was my favorite Bengal during his playing days. But I simply can't stand him now (Now here's a guy, blah, blah, blah...just good ole Stiller Footbaw, guffaw, guffaw, guffaw...nuttin good to say about the Bengals unless painfully obvious and forced). Both things can be true.

I had that SI cover hanging up in my dorm room.

Oh, I agree. As fans we make the mistake of assuming that, since they wear the uniform, that they have the same passion for the franchise that we do. Very often, it's just a job working for the team that happened to draft them.

I understand completely. 🙂 If I had the wall space, I'd order some of those SI cover reprints and frame them, and that would be one of them.

Interesting seems like Achilles tears were up in the NBA too.

Only tenuously "Bengals" because it's Boomer... but this is a fun listen. To set it up: generational rookie NHL d-man Matthew Schaefer calls into Boomer's show... Schaefer lives with former Islander Matt Martin, who is married to Boomer's daughter Sydney. Schaefer has become known as a great interview/chat because he chirps the hosts with aplomb:

I am quite envious of Islander fans that they get to build around this kid... it looks like my Leafs are about to blow it up, with very little draft capital in the next 2-3 years (which they'll have to recover with trades, probably in the next couple months). Fun fan times for me!

I only marginally follow hockey since the team in Cincinnati is minor leagues, so that is to say I'm a Caps fan since I live here in DC (Spurs fan since I lived in San Antonio one time and David Robinson graduated from the same high school here in Virginia that I did. And I've always been a fan of the good decent human being that he is.)

That is to say I have been to a number of Caps games and got to see the legend that is Alex Ovechkin.

New coach has brought the defense along and playing better in 3rd period.

I like their hopes but reaching the playoffs is still a hard goal.

I assumed they had asked Flacco ahead of Shedeur but apparently not. That makes the Shedeur invitation even worse.

It should make the Bengals front office stop using pro bowl as a thing they use when negotiating contracts...but it wont
