January 10Jan 10 comment_1818658 It's Zac's playbook and Zac calls the plays. Why would anyone be anxious to take an OC job here when they're basically a spare tire?Yet another reason for a change at HC. We could get someone who is a better game manager, leader of men, and oversees both sides of the ball. Plus a better play caller as OC. Report

I'm surprised, honestly. If you're going to be as poor of a public face of the organization as he is, you'd better have historic level success. I'll still be surprised if he gets another HC job, but some team may look beyond the idiosyncrasies. Report

We do have our priorities. Report

We do have our priorities.Priorities like ensuring no member of The Family ever has to fly coach or send their children to public schools...and why not grab all the dirty NFL money they can? All they have to do is keep spending a certain fraction of it to appear "competitive". If I sucked at it so bad that people made my team into a punchline, after a decade or two of that I'd probably hire some pros and fuck off to find something I'm actually good at... or fart around adding new wings to local hospitals and libraries if that's too much effort? I'm sure I could find something worthwhile to do with unlimited funds and a sudden surplus of free time, at least as worthwhile as being Shadow GM of a flailing sports franchise.but I've never been convinced that what my parents did entitled me to shit.. I confess, grandpa wasn't a famous NFL coach. The Family were raised with all that & have never known anything different. In those terms, they're doing exactly what you'd expect. Report
January 13Jan 13 comment_1818914 It's official. This helps us if we can get a fast start next season, because as we saw this year with the defense it takes time to learn a new system, and all 3 of those teams are going to be learning new systems likely on both sides of the ball I'm not down on Taylor as much as others, I'm much more down on Duke. But this will be good as we can play fast right away where the other 3 teams wont be able to play fast while learning new systems. We have a leg up on the division already. Report

Every team has to spend most of it, and no team can go above it. Coach's, etc... Are a completely different budget. In 2024, Bengals revenue was $573M. $432M of that was revenue sharing. $257M for the salary cap. That's $316M left over after paying players.Considering the sweetheart stadium deal... The Bengals are far and away the most profitable of the non-cornerstone franchises. Pittsburgh, as a cornerstone franchise, reports less profit on more revenue. The Bengals are estimated to keep $50-$100M per year. Note: This is AFTER Mike Brown has paid himself his "GM Bonus", after Katie has taken her salary, etc... The Family probably keeps at least another $10M+ per year via their salaries and bonuses.https://www.statista.com/statistics/272067/operating-income-of-the-cincinnati-bengals/So, AFTER paying out Cash to Jamarr and Joe, AFTER paying The Owners to "work" for the Bengals, after chipping in $120M for their stadium upgrades... They still had $50M left over. With a high of $114M in 2021. Report
