Friday at 07:02 PM5 days comment_1818589 Scott was mostly used as a free safety with the Rams. He worked in the deep part of the field, serving as a last line of defense in the secondary. But the Bengals wanted him to play more of a strong safety role, and there was a learning curve working in the tackle box. He was also asked to mentor the younger defensive backs on the Bengals’ roster at a time when he was learning a new function in a new defense. Scott admits it wasn’t a good fit. Cooley, who has known Scott since 2020, understands why things didn’t work out for Scott with the Bengals. “He’s somebody that drives a lot off confidence and belief and people having belief in him,” Cooley said. “And in Cincinnati, they put him in a spot where that was not — he was not very confident to play. So, they were relying on him on something that he never really displayed on film. So, that’s what made the Cincinnati year go awry for him.”Read more at: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article314183563.html#storylink=cpy Report

You can't just switch a guy's position and responsibility... Geno Stone thrived when Hamilton was down in the box ganking mofo's. He's been a bad fit for a defense that wants him to be a more flexible piece that can play closer to the line. Report

If someone can't discern for themselves what information is pertinent then they are they making decisions? Oh, right. What a thing to be weirdly stubborn over. It's not a major expense, most of them are just happy to make a living doing it, they're not making big money until they distinguish themselves and get a promotion. Can't have some unpaid intern outshining Junior, though. The "right voices" are the ones signing everyone's checks. Report
