January 10Jan 10 comment_1818669 I havent been shy about my hate for kelsey conway, I havent been shy in pointing out no one within the team respects her or trusts her or likes here and she ONLY talks to agents, and her entire schtick is finding an angle to slam the bengals out of no where.I also havent been shy on the generalization of why she has those relationships with those agents, but what do i know? lol im sure its all tradition journalism...anyway..this assclown just popped out trying to be clever to future slam the bengals on a fictional scenario that chase brown will be the next in line to be a disgruntled bengal contract wise, as she knows his agent (lololol) and the bengals wont give him what he is worth.this dumb bitch.first of all, chase brown isnt that fucking good, everyone needs to calm the fuck down, he is the RB ON A TEAM WITH NOTHING BUT FEAR for the QB and WR's, chase brown is the least concern to defenses, he is talented, smart, improves, a great fit... chase brown on the browns is out of the league in a few years.. im not knocking chase brown, he is a good fit, and a fun player, he is also beefiting from his circustances, as he should, again, im not knocking it..look at perine and his career, he is a nobody until he realized pass protection and latching onto pass header QB star offenses was his road to success, he also benefits from being the forgotten weapon. anyway... Conway is trying some GOTCHA journalism predicting the team wont pay brown his worth and he will leave for greener pastures..why the FUCK would the bengals pay chase brown?why IN THE EVER LIVING FUCK WOULD THEY DO THAT? if he wants to be here for obvious reasons and take reasonable money, theyll pay him that, like they did mixon, hell they overpaid mixon.would you rather have brown or joe?would you rather have brown or jamarr?would you rather have brown or Tee?would you rather have brown or Mims?so even here, at BEST, brown is the 5th most vital guy on the offense.. thats if you ignore the other linemenif its extend brown or re-sign Risner? whats your call? 90% here will say Risner id bet.. so 6th?Karras might even be a toss up if he were a few years younger..so a roster thats offense HEAVY on spending.. not paying or overpaying for a RB who can clearly be obtained in late rounds, is in. no way a shortcoming of that franchise or front office, its logic, common sense and reason.he isnt derrick henry, he isnt lvin kamara, no one in the building is losing sleep over chase brown.anyone notice Perine playing far more with Joe back in the lineup? joe prefers perine in several situations.. fans bitching that zach isnt playing Chase Brown, lol, yeah man zach taylor wanted less ofa. weapon out there with joe back... thats it... Brown is an asset, a contributor, a fun and really good player, a fun fit for the offense, and can make some plays...what chase brown is NOT, is vital to this team or offense. if someone wants tooverpay him, he will have to go chase that money elsewhere, he is only WORTH reasonable dollar amount here when that time comes.Like Uzomah and Hayden Hurst Helmsley, the stars here will make guys look good and they can go get overpaid soemwhere else..it is sad and sucks sometimes.. but thats the ame and the business of the NFL.after all the fanebase doesnt want to just pay more for the same roster? right? January 10Jan 10 comment_1818682 Are you making a scarecrow with all that straw? I think Brown should be extended and his value is probably around 10 mil per year, ie higher than Risner. But the Bengals will have about 80 mil at the start of the league year (unless they extend people before then) and can easily have more than 100 mil to spend. The bigger money extensions for Brown, Turner, and Hill can wait until summer time before camp opens. Extending Brown doesn't prevent them from signing anyone else. Report
January 11Jan 11 comment_1818718 From my vantage point…the crux of the post was against Kelsey Conway (very justified) and Chase Brown was the subject example of future table-setting for Kelsey’s bellyache “articles”. Report

We can talk about YPC or route-running, we have a couple of WR/TE's, but the rest are primarily blockers. Any RB on the roster is going to be asked to do that more than anything. It's not sexy, no one gets excited on draft day (unless its a 2nd round reach ) but even Brown is mostly blocking with the ball headed elsewhere. What's 15ish carries on average just to keep the D honest actually worth?so IDK, do they still make fullbacks? or even like, Drew Sample but more so? If we're into day 3 picks.. For the amount of snaps these roles are seeing it'd be worth having one that's got a little more game than some ST utility player Report

February 7Feb 7 comment_1820987 RB, easy-ish replacement in the draft. I don't think re-signing Chase will be a big issue. If he were talented on the level of say, Saquon Barkley, then there might be some pain. If he and his agent does try to get outrageous about the pay he will probably go on the Perine field trip. Bengals aren't in a position that one of their RBs has the juice to bully them. Report

February 9Feb 9 comment_1821077 I find it curious that…based on what, I have no clue…that the fact a RB1 is interested in an extension, causes so much consternation. Just a media comment or two, unleashes a hellfire of reactions like “easily replaceable”…”draft picks will do as well”…”vets available in FA”. Holy cow…welcome to the off season! Report

If they want to escape the "discount franchise" image they should probably stop freaking out & rending their garments every time a starter gets close to free agency. Sure the RB position is mostly an afterthought in this offense, but they're also sitting on top 5-10 cap space. If it's not going to Brown where is it going? That's more my question. Report

Last year had a strong RB group but this's class is thin. Bengals would have to use a day 1 or 2 pick for a RB who starts or gets lots of snaps right away. If they pick someone and don't give them a lot of snaps, then they won't be in position to let Brown walk away next offseason since they won't know what they have. Report

February 10Feb 10 comment_1821108 Gio Bernard-type would feast in this offense. Don't see a whole lot of value in a trad RB. Don't fumble, block, catch.. Actually running the ball is far down the list of responsibilities & depends on the OL more than anything.. and ours kinda sucks at run blocking. If we want more YPC out of the position we need to get someone on the OL that can move the line of scrimmage. Until that happens we can expect more "no gain" runs, no matter who is getting the ball. Report
February 11Feb 11 comment_1821112 If Chase has displayed anything…it’s that he runs hard/downhill. He gets there and actually accelerates. A de facto “makes their own holes”…he attacks seams really well. And yes, this team does not need Walter Payton…but a consistent 800 yds per year plus the receiving/blocking, is valuable Report

February 11Feb 11 comment_1821118 There’s nothing at all wrong with Chase Brown in this offense…no reason to go looking for a replacement, IMO. Just look to build depth. Maybe find a younger version of Semaj. Other than that, I’d leave it alone. Report
