Yeah, they drafted Charlie Jones as the Boyd replacement and Yoshi as the guy who would replace Tee.

He played 52% last year as well.

Still he might be better outside.

Meh, they have plenty of options without one and the ones on the roster currently are all good blockers, so I’m not sure it really matters all that much.

Gesicki though is definitely not a TE. They might call him one but really he’s just an oversized WR. He is effective in that role though when he’s healthy.

That's what I mean, they have some extra lineman types and they have a couple of big possession receiver types.

I think a good all-around TE would do more for the offense than a WR3 & definitely be on the field more often.

That was supposed to be Eric All, but that failed due to injury. Then it was supposed to be Noah Fant, but that failed due to unexpected suckage.

Maybe they should try and rehire Fant and let him and Eric All duke it out in the off-season / pre-season and cut / trade the one that looses the camp battle.

That way, the TEs look like: Gesicki, Hudson, Sample, [ All / Fant ] with Grandy back on the practice squad. Maybe try and sign someone like Isaiah Likely instead of Fant.

Or they could try to upgrade from Drew Sample. The coaches seem to love him but he's not very good at blocking and terrible at route running. They could find a better all around TE on day 3 of the draft or week 3 of free agency.

No question he looked the part there for a second. Stover who went ten picks later hasn't done much for the Texans being healthy, despite 2 playoff appearances.. so I guess 4th round picks are whatever? They got DT Jordan Jefferson off waivers - the pick after All.. Tyrice Knight would've been nice I guess.. All came into the draft limping so no big surprise..

If they're low value picks then we shouldn't have high expectations for them, being the catch. Can't afford to gamble in FA so they gamble with the draft, stock up on those day 3 comp picks like they don't have a billion dollar money printer in the office & yeah.. Pretend like the draft thing is working but the printer's out of toner?
