I’m very curious to see where they both end up.

It is very interesting that 3 of the top BOA prospects - Styles, Love, Downs - are in non-premium positions. The ultimate BOA versus position battle.

Yes..

I certainly don’t understand how someone can be 100% motivated in the weight room but far less so on the field. Usually goes hand in hand. Highly motivated people tend to be that way regardless of the task they are doing.

I'd hoped - there's that word again - that they'd head into the draft without any obvious, glaring needs. Still too many holes at DL & LB.

The BPA may very well be an OT at 10 but instead of giving themselves the option they extend OBumJr without even lowering his $21M cap hit. We'll just keep pretending he's not playing out of position and struggling, in the Land of Make-Believe where they're all just crushing it.

Hard to make any sense of that from a 27-year veteran NFL exec.. unless the goal is spending the least amount of real money allowed 🤷‍♂️ The rest of the NFL are trying to fit as much talent possible under the cap & here's the Bengals, working to do just the opposite. Not unexpected but it's still disappointing when combined with their usual Happytalk bullshit. Quit lying at least, damn.

Not how it's listed elsewhere but I hope they are paying him <20

They might find a LB for 3 mil-ish but probably not much of one

According to that he dropped his salary for this year from 14 mil to 3.5 while getting a 14 mil roster bonus which can be prorated across the 3 years of the contract. Thus the gain in cap space.

Yes, and it looks like it gives the team a reasonable out if they want to cut him with a post June 1st designation in 2027 or 2028.

Draft him as a 3T.

Won't be sorry .

Ex-Fuggin-XACTLY!!😂😂

Extending OBJ with reasonable outs after this season is a wise move. He’s benefiting from scarcity at his position and the Bengals track record of failure post Whitworth. They’ve failed with Ogbuehi, Glenn, and Jonah Williams. The draft doesn’t offer much this year and waiting till next year free agency is a huge risk. It makes sense to keep him at reasonable money even if pretty much everyone agrees we’d like to do better.

I've seen 2-3 OTs mocked in the top 15. One of them could easily be BPA at #10, at least based on the mock drafts "consensus".

More likely they reach for the next best defensive player in that scenario since they haven't done much to address needs in FA.. slim chance of trading down.. but it could fall that way & they should have a plan for if it does

Just going off what I’ve read, the top two OT in the draft are probably moving to OG (Mauigoa, Fano). I like Proctor from Alabama, but he had a mediocre season last year. His potential is high but he’s not a slam dunk. Like I said it’s risky to think anyone is the answer in this draft.

I believe Mauigoa and Fano were also primarily RT's in college?

Good point.

If one feels they're elite potential you draft them.

Yep

.keeps cohesiveness along the line as well..

All that's been reported about if JB just had an average line seems here now.

Build some decent depth behind it for injuries.

This offense will be must watch NFL games this year

Even more interesting is the fact that the deepest positions in the draft are considered non-premium ones. Safety/LB/TE/IOL. So that push the best prospects for positions like OT/DT might get pushed higher up the board than they might in a different draft.

True of any position in any round, but they'll probably continue to do so regardless.

FFS, no one is saying he can’t be great, all anyone is saying is that the data over the last 20 years absolutely does not favor him.

Do with it what you will.

I'd draft him as a 3T

.I'll forget the length simply due to his ability to disrupt plays .

Could bring some juice and more life in the inner trenches.

Titans pick #4 ... Not sure Bain gets past them ...

I will be shocked if the Titans don't take RB Love at pick 4. They already have plenty o pass rushers. They need someone on offense to help take the pressure off of Cam Ward. Love is a special running back.

Will C Jacob Bayer beat out C Matt Lee to backup Ted Karras?

Should they look for a high caliber center in the draft

Big fan of “J-Rod” - just has that “it” factor where he makes game-changing plays often. He's a former QB, really football smart and athletically at the Combine, I think he surprised some people.
