OK, so who are people's "guys" outside of the ones we all want (Reese, Downs, Styles, Delane, Bain, Bailey)?

Mine:

DE - Akheem Mesidor

LB - Jake Golday / Jackson Kuwatch

S - AJ Haulcy / Michael Taaffe

TE - Oscar Delp

QB - Garrett Nussmeier

Just curious what people are going to be hoping for in a trade-down or post round 1 pick.

Personal note: Kuwatch would be crazy for our household - his GF is one of my daughter's BFFs from high school - they grew up playing soccer since they were like 6 year olds so we've been close with her and her family over the years. We met him, he's a great kid - would be cool to root for him as a Bengal. My luck, he becomes a player for the Browns or Stealers and I have to hate his guts instead.

You know that will happen. Probably Golday to Stealers too.

Other (mainly D) guys I like:

DL - Dani Dennis-Sutton (Penn St), Derrick Moore (Michigan), Lee Hunter (Texas Tech), R. Mason Thomas, Gracen Halton (both Oklahoma), Kaden Curry (Ohio State)

LB - Jacob Rodriguez (Texas Tech), Bryce Boettcher ( Oregon)

DB - Keonte Scott (Miami), Dillon Thienemen (Oregon), DeAngelo Ponds (Indiana), Bud Clark (TCU)

OL - Gennings Dunker (Iowa, great mullet too)

WR - Jordan Hudson (SMU)

I still think there’s a decent chance that Ty Simpson gets into the top 10.

Yes, keep falling.. I heard his standing long jump was 19% below average. Probably a day 2 pick, many are saying.

Sounds like a Dookie kind of guy, for sure.

But, but think of his "potential". Who needs actual when you can get potential, amirite?

Believe it was 4.35 .

DJ Turner same size but I see Delane adding a lil weight (182) after combine...

Together they would be dynamic imo.

He may be gone with that speed now though.

Let's hope a CB goes in the top 9. Several teams ahead of use could use a #1 CB.

Do we already basically know the top 10 picks in the draft, even if we don't know the exact order?

Mendoza QB

Love RB

Tate WR

OT (one or more of Freeling/Mauigoa - Cleveland expected to take a tackle at #6)

Reese LB-EDGE

Bailey EDGE

Bain EDGE

Styles LB

Downs Safety

Delane CB

Feels like one of these 10 prospects will fall naturally to pick #10, but do the Bengals pass if the falling player doesn't play a so-called premium position?

Unless Tate improves considerably on his combine time, he's not a lock for top 10.

Who would trade up for him? Jets might very well be able to get him with the Colts pick at 16. Stealers don't seem likely to trade up for him. Who else?

You like those Lubbock Lads.

How times have changed. It wasn’t that long ago that Tech defenses were very Bengal-like

Oh yeah, they sucked big-time for years. I know J-Rod and Bailey were transfers and I think Hunter was also.

They’ve spent a ton of $ with NIL and it’s paying off. They did the same in women’s softball, of all things, and made it to the college WS finals.

Money talks, especially when recruiting people to a flat, pretty boring city in West Texas.

Cleveland is stupid enough to.

Every physical measurement

against him.

Yet ..He a fuckin beast on the field .

^ That line about Mesidor playing like a Werewolf is awesome.

Miami clearly has 2 NFL star edges, as I think Bain might be the #1 guy overall in the entire draft.

To the Browns possibly

I don't believe they're sold on Sanders at all

Tenacity wise yes.

He's an all out every down beast

Forget the measurements on this guy.

He creates havoc ....

I think if Bain weren't in the draft somehow, Mesidor would be in the running for the top DE. Maybe people still go after Bailey first but all of the hype and attention Bain gets from the fans and media would have been Mesidor's. I personally would not be upset if Mesidor was the pick at 10 if everyone else went off the board already (Downs, Styles, Reese, Bain, Delane, Bailey, Love). I'd definitely take him over Woods and Banks for sure. Those two just don't do it for me.

Every new media mock draft seems to have the same 10 players in the top 10. Other than sometimes Freeling replaces Mauigoa as the top OT.

Todd McShay's Mock Draft 3.0: 1. Raiders: QB Fernando Mendoza 2. Jets: LB Arvell Reese 3. Cardinals: OT Francis Mauigoa 4. Titans: Edge Rueben Bain Jr. 5. Giants: RB Jeremiyah Love 6. Browns: WR Carnell Tate 7. Commanders: LB Sonny Styles 8. Saints: Edge David Bailey 9. Chiefs: CB Mansoor Delane 10. Bengals: DS Caleb Downs

Delane stocked jumped .

Don't see him there now...

I could see Bain or Downs as possibilities.

How many OL & WR go in the top 10 will determine who falls to us. Good OL are scarce so teams may lean that way. Also a lot of teams have young QBs so giving them a high end WR may be their choice.

It really is an interesting draft given how elite a few of the non-premium prospects are.

If I was a top team with a good (but not elite) QB or a very young QB I would certainly jump at Love anywhere in the top 5 or 10. He could really help a team with a young QB.

Another factor on the WR’s - they seem to be the second or third most expensive position now (could be wrong but going from memory on the pay of the top ones) so getting a good young one for 5 years at a “cheap” rate is also worth considering.

It would be interesting to know how different teams factor in premium versus non-premium positions in their rankings.
